Basic Job Functions:
Nucor LMP Cold Finish is seeking a leader committed to taking care of our customers. The Quality Technician will assist the Quality team in various QA functions including tensile testing of samples and maintenance of the Quality Management System. This position reports directly to the Quality supervisor.
Basic Job Functions:
* Use of computers, gauges, micrometers, tensile testing machines and any other equipment needed to perform required quality tests.
* Maintaining a safe working environment and good housekeeping of the Tensile Lab
* The safe operation and maintenance of the equipment in the Tensile Lab.
* Participate in QMS audits of Cold Finish and would have a key role in the maintenance and upkeep of the Cold Finish QMS system
* Inspection of material
* Maintaining calibrations on QMS related equipment
Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.
Minimum Qualifications:
* High School Diploma or GED

* Previous quality control experience
* Industrial mechanical abilities
* Experience in a manufacturing environment

This segment sells its products to steel service centers, fabricators, and manufacturers in automotive, energy, agricultural, heavy equipment, and transportation sectors. The Steel Products segment offers hollow structural section steel tubing products, electrical conduits, steel joists and joist girders, steel decks, fabricated concrete reinforcing steel products, cold finished steel products, steel fasteners, metal building systems, steel grating and expanded metal products, and wire and wire mesh products to general contractors, fabricators, distributors, and manufacturers.
This segment also engages in the piling distribution business. The Raw Materials segment produces direct reduced iron (DRI); processes ferrous and nonferrous metals; brokers ferrous and nonferrous metals, pig iron, DRI, and hot briquetted iron; supplies ferro-alloys; and processes ferrous and nonferrous scrap metal, as well as engages in the natural gas drilling operations. This segment sells its ferrous scrap to electric arc furnace steel mills and foundries for manufacturing process; and nonferrous scrap metal to aluminum can producers, secondary aluminum smelters, steel mills and other processors, and consumers of various nonferrous metals.
