As the Software Engineer for our engineering platforms, you will be at the heart of Microsoft's modern engineering process, building software that empowers engineering teams to deliver industry leading products. * Meeting with internal customers to understand feature requirements.
* Contributing to the DevOps process.
* Designing and developing large scale distributed software services and solutions.
* Collaborating with team members to come up with new ways to solve old problems.
* Driving modern software engineering practices through code and design reviews, and by using data/telemetry to make decisions.

Basic Qualifications:

* Minimum 2 years experience with C, C++, C and/or JavaScript.
* At least year experience developing in cloud environments with microservices.
* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent is required.

Preferred Qualifications:

* An ability to manage your workload and self-prioritize in an Agile fashion.
* Working knowledge of source control tools such as Git.
* Developing APIs to expose functionality and data.
* The people skills to work cross-functionally with engineers, software developers, and leadership.
* Excellent problem-solving skills and software engineering habits, including peer code reviews, unit testing, etc.
* Experience with any analytical / visualization tool (Power BI, Cognos, OBIEE, etc.) is a plus.
* Development experience on large-scale data solutions including databases (SQL) and ETL / Data pipelines using cloud services.
* Experience with automation and workload technologies (Python/Ansible/Chef/Puppet).
* Working knowledge of network manageability tools and automation platforms.
