Job Description:

* The Manager, Material Management role will be responsible for managing a team of Material Managers focused on inventory management and responsible for planning, controlling and managing activities related to inventory control, shipping/receiving, storing and traffic analysis of materials or finished goods for sales warehouses, and factory operations to meet sales, production schedules, and program demand.
* Plans, schedules and monitors the efficient movement of material from receiving or the warehouse to production. Develops raw material requirements and scheduling requirements from engineering specifications and production schedules and coordinates material movement with PMO, purchasing, warehouse, and production.
* Utilizes Material Requirements Planning (MRP) systems. Works with procurement and subcontracts to manage lead times with suppliers and keep material item masters updated for timely material delivery.
* Will interface with many program disciplines including Program Management, Engineering, Quality, Legal, Finance, Production Planning, Manufacturing, General Procurement and Subcontracts.
* May interpret laws, rules and regulations regarding shipping and prepares applications for export/import control certifications and licenses.

Essential Functions:

* Subject matter expert with knowledge of job area and in-depth knowledge of project management who will support all aspects of the Supply Chain process from proposal stage through Program award and execution.
* Will be responsible for leading team meetings, conducting one on one meetings with team, and performing all requirements associated with annual performance objectives including quarterly progress reviews and annual assessments.
* Responsible for monitoring Subcontractor & Supplier cost, schedule, and technical performance, and ensuring L3Harris and Customer objectives are achieved, including on-time delivery, exceptional quality, and affordability with the ability to monitor & assess project issues and develop mechanisms & resolutions to meet goals.
* Strong understanding of principles of project management including Baseline Scope and Change Management with the ability to review status of projects, budgets, and forecasts to completion.
* Responsible for understanding and enforcing Material Management and Accounting System (MMAS) standards to meet requirements and intent of the FAR and DFARS.
* Accountable to assure required resources deployed to manage corrective action measures relative to Material Scope and external Suppliers when necessary by attending Material Review Boards (MRB) and working cross-functionally to disposition non-conforming material.
* Responsible for defining/quantifying risk exposure (Schedule & Cost) relevant to issues associated with Supply Chain scope, and associated burndown plans to retire risks.
* Accountable for the Material Requirement Planning (MRP) systems accuracy/integrity, compliance with company and DoD standards, and possess the ability to concisely communicate how responsible stakeholders perform their scope within the MRP system. Responsible for quantifying labor estimates for the responsible stakeholders transacting in MRP system.
* Responsible to develop, drive, and execute supply chain transformation and improvement projects. Must have functional and operational experience in the Supply Chain Management and Operations domains who can understand, analyze, and define business requirements. This individual must be able to use hands-on, cross-functional approaches to identify pain points and drive improvements. Must have the passion, business acumen, and experience to drive best-in-class supply chain processes and efficiencies.
* Analyzes inventory levels, inventory positioning, planned production and sales forecasts.
* Oversees the liquidation and transfer of stock to reflect cost, age, and demand.
* Able to influence others regarding new concepts, practices, and approaches and skilled at change management.
* Frequently develops and conducts briefings for senior leaders.
* Responsible to bridge communication gaps between Cost Account Managers and Material Planners.
* Monitor and control Customer Furnished Material (CFM) and Government Furnished Equipment (GFE) Material Dependencies.
* Responsible to evaluate and disposition contract excess material.
* Responsible for BOM readiness reviews and DMS obsolescence effectivity analysis
* Motivated self-starter well versed in the Material Management Process Flow.
* Work should be performed within set boundaries and with very little direct supervision.
* Strong, in-depth knowledge pertaining to the principles of project management and inventory management.
* Must be able to communicate effectively with a wide array of professional levels and functions.
* Must possess ability to think with innovation, pull complex & comprehensive data from multiple data bases, investigation to solve complex problems, and be able to translate the data into a story or presentation.

Qualifications:

* Bachelor's Degree and minimum 9 years prior related experience. Graduate Degree with a minimum of 7 years of prior related experience.
* Previous Inventory Management experience.
* In-depth knowledge of project management

Preferred Additional Skills:

* Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
* Advanced data analysis and math skills
* Strong verbal and written communication skills
* Certified PMP Project Manager is desired but not required
* Six Sigma Green Belt Certified, or APICS, or ISM certification preferred but not required
* MRP system experience
* Understands the basics and best practices pertaining to configuration management for hardware and documents
* Regression Analysis & Demand/Forecasting Estimation Models
* Experience optimizing inventory control procedures
