Senior BA Lead will report directly to the Head of North America Delegated Authority COO. The role will be working closely with business partners to gain in dept understanding of customers business strategy, processes & operational challenges. Responsibilities will include managing the requirements phase of the various projects including SCUP initiatives. Senior BA role will oversee and manage the quality deliverables from the BA team and making sure requirements and processes are documented based on the expected standards. This role will also be responsible on leading various workshops with business partners, to derive the discussions in order to gather their requirements.
The responsibilities for this role include:
* Lead and manage a team of Business Analysts and in support of Strategic program implementation
* Manage Business relationship with customers and assist them with program planning
* Define/enhance business engagement process for day to day functioning of the BA team
* Serve as liaison between Business and IT, translating business needs into functional business requirements. Collaborate with business partner to define business requirements for a project
* As a Lead Business Analyst on the project, lead strategic design discussions and help BA team develop a functional design by breaking down requirements into deliverable functionality
* Analyze application and business domain functional/data requirements and business rules, understanding the data flow from source to screen
* Facilitate the generation of mockups for new screen designs and new reports; review and get stakeholder buy in
* Partner with the software development team on the technical design and development process ensuring business requirements are understood and delivered
* Support UAT test strategy and test plans documentations and review
* Understand and apply Corporate IT standards, designs, and documentation standards into recommended project
* Prepare project documentation such as meeting minutes, business process documents and other process workflow diagrams as required
* Work with business partners to develop acceptance criteria and a plan to facilitate user acceptance testing to ensure that the solution meets the business needs
* Provide regular updates and communicate business concerns or feedback to the Project Stakeholders/Team as appropriate
* Identify and communicate risks to delivering solutions on time and on budget to the Project Manager; provide support as appropriate to resolve issues
* Provide training to the business community related to the launch of new application solutions/functionality
* Work on delivering milestones using Agile delivery methodologies
Required Qualifications:
* 15+ years of relevant IT industry work experience in the Software Development life cycle
* Experience driving strategic functional discussion with business stake holders and producing actionable plan for driving delivery
* 5+ Experience leading and managing a team of Business Analyst
* Experience leading requirements gathering, analysis and documentation
* Experience working with senior business management and Senior IT leads to design new functionalities on an existing application
* Experience creating test strategy and test scripts with the requisite documentation
* Experience working as the sole business analyst on a project
* Ability to work closely and provide guidance on business functionality with the technical team
* Must possess outstanding verbal and written communication skills
* Must be detail-oriented and thorough with the ability to meet aggressive deadlines
* Must be flexible and effective at multi-tasking
* Must be pro-active with issue identification and resolution
* Strong ability to perform analysis of medium to complex business function, workflow, and technology issues to support decision-making
* Familiarity with relational database concepts (SQL Server). Able to write simple SQL queries
* Ability to adapt to changing business requirements
* Experience working on web-based and digital applications
* Experience working in Agile delivery methodologies
* Preferred experience in Insurance industry
