We are currently recruiting for an Associate Manager, Data Science to join Altria Advanced Analytics department in Richmond, VA, or we are open to remote work arrangements.
What you'll be doing:
• Mine and combine multiple data sources to complete descriptive and diagnostic analyses
• Leverage big data cloud computing resources to design, test and implement new analytical solutions to measure, predict, and influence business outcomes
• Integrate a variety of data sources (e.g., retail point-of-sale, shipments, financial, consumer, geospatial) to proactively evaluate and identify consumer marketing business opportunities
• Lead the application of a variety of advanced analytical methods (e.g., machine learning, statistical, econometric) to develop consumer centric insights
• Synthesize, translate, and communicate analyses to inform and influence business leaders
• Collaborate with brand marketing, in-market and digital activation, and data engineering teams to define, scope, and deliver data-driven solutions against multiple priorities
• Help productionize and deploy analytical model solutions, and support their ongoing tracking and maintenance to ensure their efficacy
What we want you to have:
• Bachelor’s degree in Decision Science, Analytics, Economics, Statistics, Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, or related field. Master’s or other graduate level degree a plus
• 4 - 5+ years of progressively responsible work experience with data and analytics; CPG experience a plus
• Ability to independently conduct complex data manipulation, model analyses, and synthesize results
• Demonstrated knowledge of SQL and Python programming languages; familiarity with Apache Spark & Databricks preferred
• Firm grasp of basic statistical/economic principles and a general understanding of advanced analysis techniques
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with demonstrated ability to communicate abstract technical concepts with non-technical audiences
• A sense of urgency and genuine curiosity
• The courage and confidence to discuss and debate across all levels of the organization

The starting salary is based on but not limited to experience, knowledge, and qualifications in determining compensation decisions. The Salary Range for this position is: $107,700.00 - $156,150.00 / annually.
