How you'll help us Keep Climbing (overview & key responsibilities)

Flight Operations is seeking a Program Leader to be responsible for the operational integrity of Delta's Electronic Flight Bag (EFB device), ensuring compliance with all FAA required elements for accessibility, usability and reliability. This individual will monitor the daily operation of the program and coordinate with divisional workgroups, cross-divisional stakeholders, regulators, vendors and technology solution providers on program assessment, changes and enhancements. 

Summary of responsibilities (not comprehensive of all tasks): 

Serves as the subject matter expert (SME) on the integration of the EFB system's hardware, operating system and installed software applications

Manages and executes the testing protocol for operating system and application updates to confirm that any designated operational software applications installed on the EFB do not interfere with device integrity 
Partners with divisional leaders and SMEs on the development of pilot communication, EFB training materials, risk mitigation strategy, business continuity plans and EFB policies and procedures

Serves as the primary point of contact with external EFB Help Desk vendor, tracking support issues, escalating problem resolution as needed and confirming Help Desk knowledge base has the most current solutions documented
Consolidates feedback from crew reporting systems (FCR, ASAP), Help Desk reports and other communication channels to assess health of the program and identify trends that require mitigation, preparing reports for management
Partners with Delta IT and vendors to ensure that all hardware and iOS elements of the EFB program and infrastructure meet the FAA requirements for stability and reliability as outlined in AC 120-76D

Maintains relationships with the FAA and the Air Line Pilots Association (ALPA) Technology Committee to report program status and solicit feedback

Maintains a working relationship with OALs and participates in industry working groups on EFB topics
Practices safety-conscious behaviors in all operational processes and procedures
Embraces diverse people, thinking and styles

What you need to succeed (minimum qualifications)

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Management, or Business or at least five years of related work experience including hardware or software development, project management, or continuous improvement
Extensive experience with developing and implementing technology tools and processes with front-line work forces including establishing sustainable program support mechanisms
Excellent interpersonal and relationship building skills; ability to seek input, understand, and ask the right questions to drive the right solution for the enterprise
Ability to think strategically to align tactical projects and initiatives with Delta's long-term goals

Previous experience with inventory management and supply chain  
Previous experience in IT, device and application testing and extensive knowledge of the Apple platform
