Job Description

I. Project Background & Overview

There is an indication that biotech companies are looking for small-scale mixers, which yet are not available in the market. A Voice of Customer investigation and a market evaluation should give sufficient information to make a decision if the development of a small-scale mixer is a business case and what are the technical requirement. On basis of this work a new product development will be started or not.

II.Objectives

The first 8 weeks should be used to

* Evaluate the applications for a small-scale mixer for the biotech market including the Gene Therapy market
* Evaluate the competitor situation for a small-scale mixer
* Define the target customer
* Set up a Voice of Customer questionnaire and plan the best procedure to approach the target customers.

the last 2-4 weeks should be used to

* data evaluation and report out

The results should give a clear data-based indication about the target customer, the size of the market and the projected growth for the next 5 years, as well as the competitor picture.

III.Project Scope

Goals:

The target is to collect and evaluate data and create a report-out to get enough information if the development of a small-scale mixer is a business case. It should give an overview about the target applications and market segments and target customers. Additionally, it should describe the todays problems and needs of a customer and technical requirements of a small-scale mixer which could solve the problems and needs. The data should be confirmed by a Voice of Customer investigation.

Actuals:

There is a wide customer base which can be applied for answering the questions as well as a good picture of the market. It will be difficult to align data from different sources get a reliable picture.

Pitfalls and Challenges:

Data evaluation must be very accurate and must reflect the regional needs as well.

It could be difficult to do VOCs especially under the impact of Covid 19. It should be done in alignment with our Pall sales and marketing department and supported by them. Since there is a high workload it could cause some time constrains.

Report out:

The results should be presented to the product manager mixer and group managers and a report-out should be available. The content should give a clear indication if the development of a small-scale mixer is a business case.

IV.Stakeholders

Stakeholders are Klaus Kienle and Silke Bergheim-Pietza. The key points should be reported out to Oliver Triebsch and Morgan Norris as well as Nathan Hancock and Rick Morris.

V.Deliverables

Weekly meetings with the stake holders should be used to define the way forward, to reflect the progress and adapt changes. Two weeks after starting the summer associate/intern should deliver a plan how she/he wants to collect the data. The plan should be agreed with the stakeholders and contributing Pall employees. The budget for external data sources should be agreed. After week 8 the data collection should be finished. In interim status should be presented to the stakeholders. In week 12 the summer associate/inters should deliver a presentation and a report-out with the described content to all stakeholders.
