Job Description

Facebook is seeking a Manager for Technical Program Management (TPM) with large-scale hardware system infrastructure experience related to Storage. This person will be deeply involved in evolving and enhancing the hardware infrastructure that supports all Facebook products and services. They will partner closely with Storage Hardware Engineering, Release-to-Production, Supply Operation Engineering, Capacity Engineering and Analysis, Storage Software Engineering, Storage Software TPM and Data Center Operation Integration teams to deliver critical programs for the full end-to-end hardware system solution for Storage. You will lead a team of technical program managers with end-to-end ownership to solve some of the most challenging hardware system problems in the industry, drive innovative, creative and ground-breaking solutions, and utilize automation to scale the Storage space. The responsibilities of this role include both people management and alignment with multiple organizations to scale and integrate hardware system solution into Facebook infrastructure. This is a full-time position.

Group Technical Program Manager, Hardware Storage Responsibilities

* Build and lead an organization with customer focus, world-class quality, and effective communication with a focus on decisive, fast-moving solutions, quick and constructive resolutions to conflicts, and a no barriers mentality

* Align with multiple organizations to scale and integrate hardware system solution into Facebook infrastructure

* Manage a team of TPMs capable of scaling with Facebook through a period of continued high-growth, forging tight partnerships with managers and engineers across the infrastructure organization

* Drive multiple teams to stay focused and moving forward on strategic goals while you aggressively manage dependencies and remove obstacles that stand between your team and business & customer success

* Build healthy relationships with diverse technical & non-technical roles spanning all organizational levels. Leverage your relationships to ensure innovative technical & product solutions for Facebook customers

* Measure and improve efficiency and effectiveness of processes that are working well and build the next level of improvements by setting standards for deployments at scale, infrastructure reliability, security, and scalability

* Collaborate with Engineering teams and business owners to define and influence program/product requirements, set priorities, and establish scope which includes defining the roadmap and long-term strategy of the teams that you are partnering with

* Lead the team of TPMs to partner with cross functional teams to drive technical analysis, business case analysis, design, development, manufacturing, testing, deployment of hardware system solutions

* Coach and provide development opportunities to help enable career development & growth for technical program managers on the team

* Proactively identify and analyze complex, long-term, critical infrastructure problems with engineering leaders and stakeholders

* Responsible for hiring, mentoring and developing the best TPM talent for our infrastructure organization

Minimum Qualifications

* B.S. in Computer or Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent experience

* 7+ years of software engineering, systems engineering or technical product/program management experience

* 4+ years of experience as a People Manager of Technical Program Manager or Product Manager or as an Engineering Manager

* Experience moving technical or engineering programs and products from inception to delivery, articulating the impact using metrics

* Experience structuring an organization that optimizes for execution, including attracting talent and building out gaps in the existing team

* Analytical and problem-solving experience with large-scale systems

* Experience establishing work relationships across multi-disciplinary teams and multiple partners in different time zones

* Communication and interpersonal skills, including relationship building and collaboration within a diverse, cross-functional team to develop solutions

* Organizational and coordination skills along with multitasking experience to get things done in an ambiguous and fast paced environment

* Experience in Hardware New Product Introduction and Hardware development life cycle

Preferred Qualifications

* Experience in working with Storage technologies (HDD, Flash/SSD, and/or SCM) and systems based on these Storage technologies

* Experience working with OEM or ODM partners
