Inspect all products for grade, condition and quality. Monitors produce section of warehouse for cleanliness and temperature.

Position: Product Inspector/Quality Control Team Member

Summary: The Product Inspector/Quality Control Team Member is part of the procurement team. This position ensures that we are consistently receiving and delivering only the highest quality products in our marketplace and acts as the link between the regional buyers, global buyers, receivers, and store level product teams. They will ensure that we are consistently receiving and delivering only the highest quality products in our marketplace. This position will have a rotating workweek (Monday Sunday including holidays) with the shift generally starting between 2am-4am. Schedules are subject to change.

Will Do:

* Ensure loads are being accurately received and proper receiving protocol is being followed to maintain proper rotation and thorough documentation.
* Inspect all inbound product at receiving for quality issues, help to ensure that product ordered is product delivered.
* Perform comprehensive inspections and reports as required.
* Work with national commodity buyers and the order management team to resolve problem arrivals including:
* Reporting quality issues.
* Monitoring protection, tracking and reporting losses.
* Work with leadership at DC and store level to maintain quality standards and remove poor quality product from the distribution chain.
* Walk coolers and use reporting tools to identify aged, dated and poor-quality products in warehouse.
* Will assist in banana ripening as needed

Must Have/Be:

* Produce, floral, specialty, and/or meat receiving, wholesale or retail experience (prior Whole Foods experience preferred).
* An eye for quality and a commitment to achieving excellence.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills both written and verbal.
* Comfort with computers, common programs such as Excel, Outlook, Word and inventory/ordering systems (experience with Orderlink, PeopleSoft and EXE a plus).
* Ability to work a flexible schedule (this location operates nearly 24/7 365 days per year)
* Proven ability to be a team player with a strong work ethic and the ability to lead by example.
* A passion for produce.
* The ability to stand for majority of a shift in a cold, wet environment.
* Able to lift 40+ pounds above your head frequently. Able to lift loads of up 50 pounds unassisted. Occasionally may lift loads of 70 pounds. (team lift suggested for weights in excess of 70lbs) in a refrigerated/freezer environment.
* Internal candidates must be Team Members in good standing with the recommendation from your current TL and submit a completed Open Position Application, current resume, and action plan for consideration.
