In this role, you will cover the U.S. Financial Institutions portfolio, which includes, but is not limited to, banks, broker dealers, pension funds, investment funds, central clearing counterparties, mortgage REITs, state treasuries and other non-bank financial institutions. You will ensure that specific individual goals, plans and initiatives are executed and delivered in support of the Banks business strategies and objectives; and that all credit activities are conducted in compliance with governing regulations, as well as internal policies and procedures. You will be located in New York and report to the Director, U.S. Credit Risk Financial Institutions.

Is this role right for you? You'll be responsible for:

* Managing a portfolio of individual credit counterparties
* Assisting in the process of assessing, adjudicating and monitoring both individual credits and the coverage portfolio
* Product coverage, which is broad and will include all products that have credit risk, such as loans, loan products, derivatives, repo/reverse repo, stock borrow loans, commodities and banking products
* Championing a customer focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge
* Identifying risk mitigation opportunities where appropriate
* Assisting in preparing information for, and responding to, questions from regulatory authorities and audit
* Ensuring that all credit adjudication(s) and daily practices adhere to Bank policies and procedures
* Understanding and implementing the Banks risk appetite and risk culture in day-to-day activities and decisions
* Coordinating and working with Head Office Global Risk Management when necessary in matters related to the presentation of the global view of credit risk related to the portfolios
* Participation in special projects within U.S. Credit Risk Management related to broader strategic initiatives and the development of portfolio management and reporting capabilities

Do you have the skills you need to succeed? We'd love to work with you, if you have:

* A minimum Bachelors degree in a related discipline; a Master's degree, or recognized professional designation in a specialized area of finance or business
* 2-5 years of experience in financial and credit risk analysis
* An understanding of the Banks lending policies, procedures and practices
* An understanding of credit risk, and the structures and protections required for the exercise of credit analysis, including knowledge of lending and derivative products and associated documentation
* Knowledge of finance and accounting including financial projections and sensitivities; computer literacy
* Strong communication skills, both written and oral
* The ability to be a proactive decision-maker, able to handle a high volume of credit intensive work, in a highly time sensitive environment
