Job Purpose/Summary:
This position is responsible for ensuring that Capital Projects, Engineering and related corporate supporting departments' purchases are made using defined guidelines and through key suppliers. Additionally, the position will be responsible for acquisition of line pipe and commodities for pipelines and pipeline terminal facilities. As a member of the Supply Chain Team, this individual will play a critical role in helping Plains execute capital expansions and fulfill operational needs to a broad customer base.
Job Responsibilities
* Source Capital Project materials and supplies through the RFQ process.
* Create commercial bid evaluations based on cost analysis and commercial terms of vendor quotations.
* Create purchase orders via a competitive bid process (RFQ) in Oracle using documented guidelines provided.
* Manage and process blocked/parked/unprocessed invoices via workflow.
* Process small dollar requests through the use of a managed P-Card program
* Perform Oracle maintenance activity as required (PO closing, material pricing updates, PO Change Order requests etc.) and as assigned.
* Act as the main point of contact with customers (internal and external) for all customer-related issues.
* Maintain effective communications between customers and third parties to effectively provide details to the appropriate personnel and business management as needed.
* Operate with a high degree of knowledge regarding customers, products, and industry trends.
* Maintain advanced knowledge of Oracle and support tools and assists customers/vendors in full utilization of system tools.
Knowledge, Skills, and Experience Required:
* Bachelor's degree is required with a major preferably in Supply Chain Management, Construction Science, Logistics Technology, Industrial Distribution, Marketing, Management, Economics, Accounting/Finance, Business or related degree from an accredited university and a minimum of 6 years of experience in purchasing, procurement or supply chain; or a minimum of 10 years of experience in purchasing, procurement or supply chain
* Experience in pipeline/oil & gas, refinery or EPC industry required
* Ability to take the lead on large projects with minimal supervision
* Previous experience leading teams or assisting with training/guidance of junior level staff
* Possess intermediate to advanced knowledge of Oracle
* Extensive use of Microsoft Office Suite, including proficient use of Excel, Outlook and Word.
* Demonstrate the ability to work well in a team environment.
* Proactive, schedule-driven work habits and the ability to resolve issues in a fast-paced environment
* Excellent communication and analytical skills needed to resolve problems and make decisions
