We are working aggressively to impact peoples lives positively around the world by making it easier for them to access high quality Wi-Fi networks via all the consumer-facing surfaces across the Facebook family of products (Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp). In todays pandemic world, staying connected is essential for people globally - and the Facebook Connectivity team has a critical role to play in making that happen! We are moving fast to bring these new technologies into production, leveraging as many best practices from our networking and infra software portfolio as possible and actively creating many new systems and algorithms along the way.

Software Engineering Manager, Connectivity Responsibilities

* Be both highly technical and an effective people manager in the Mobile Application Development & Infrastructure domain.

* Proven track record of leading teams that deliver on multiple, production scale projects of increasing dependencies in an ambiguous high-impact area.

* Collaborate closely with your team and cross functional partners to define and influence strategy, drive engineering initiatives and have an impact at an organizational level.

* Proven track record of forming effective partnerships with product designers, product managers and data scientists.

* Set clear expectations for team members and provide constructive feedback.

Minimum Qualifications

* Bachelors Degree in Computer Science with relevant work experience.

* 5+ years of proven expertise and hands-on technical management experience in the Mobile Application Development & Infrastructure domain.

* Expertise in Android full stack development for building applications and frameworks.

* Coding skills in one (or more) of the following: Kotlin, C++, Java, JavaScript, C or PHP.

* Experience working on full stack systems with user facing products.

* Experience supporting a team working across multiple technologies.
