The Group Technical Program Manager for Remote Presence Quality will be responsible for leading a team of technical program managers solving some of the hardest technical challenges in audio/video communications today. You will help define and drive technical roadmap, continue to develop and recruit talented individuals to tackle these challenges, and ensure we set the highest bar for quality along multiple dimensions of reliability, performance, user experience, and scalability. Being successful will require deep data insight, rapid experimentation, and innovative technical problem solving in a fast moving environment. You should have proven ability in leading high performing teams in complex spaces while building strong partnerships across cross-functional teams. The role will require developing deep technical expertise while also keeping a focus on delivering results with agility and confident leadership. Prior experience in building and leading TPM teams of 10 or more that operate at cloud scale is a must. You will also be expected to ramp-up quickly on new technologies as the team continues to drive cutting edge innovation. A passion for developing your team members is expected as you set a bar for the team which is as high as for the products we ship. Group Technical Program Manager, Remote Presence Quality Responsibilities

* Build and lead a team of TPMs capable of scaling with Remote Presence through a period of continued high-growth while forging tight partnerships with managers and engineers across infrastructure & product teams.

* Influence technical strategy and vision for Remote Presence platform to solve for optimal media quality at scale across the family of Facebook products in close collaboration with product, infra and privacy leaders across the company.

* Demonstrate an ability to structure an organization and optimize it for execution, including attracting top tier talents and filing out gaps in the existing team quickly to accommodate growth.

* Manage from the front, prioritize, and drive the bigger mission forward by translating vision into results.

* Manage, mentor and grow the existing technical program management teams.

* Support technical aspects of critical initiatives and features in the Remote Presence space including contributing to design and implementation planning, working with the team to set priority and tracking progress, and working cross functionally to represent engineering.

* Work with Product Management and Engineering to help develop product MVP and ensure implementation scope and delivery times are aligned with product requirements and expectations.

* Measure and improve efficiency and effectiveness of processes that are working well and build the next level of improvements, set standards for deployments at scale, infrastructure reliability, security, and scalability.

* Continue to improve the thriving engineering culture across all tech functions.

* Build and lead an organization with customer focus and effective communication with a focus on decisive, fast-moving solutions, quick and constructive resolutions to conflicts, and a no barriers mentality.

* Serve as an evangelist for the team and overall culture, both internally and externally.

Minimum Qualifications

* B.S. in Computer Science or a related technical discipline.

* 10+ years of software engineering, systems engineering or technical product/program management experience.

* 3+ years of experience as a People Manager.

* Experience either in an established data storage, real-time communications, cloud computing or mid-sized growth stage company.

* Experience communicating behind program architectures, including how and why they were run, and the systems put in place to run them.

* Knowledge in technical program management methodologies, experience delivering tech programs or products from inception to delivery.

* Experience moving technical or engineering programs from concept to completion and experience articulating the impact using metrics, growth examples, return.
