Facebooks Global Business Marketing is seeking an experienced leader to oversee the new editorial vision for Insights Marketing, and our external channel Facebook IQ. Facebook IQ aims to inspire businesses to think differently through bold revelations that go beyond conventional wisdom stemming from Facebooks unique position and perspective on the world. We seek an accomplished and intellectually curious editorial leader to play a critical role in standing up and accelerating our foresights product through engaging content strategies that grow awareness and engagement of Facebook IQ. The ideal candidate is a good mix of a future thinker, culture and tech lover. They are clever sleuths who are constantly learning, reading, and exploring to unlock bold thinking and develop fresh takes on the world. In partnership with our research team and internal and external thought leaders, this person will lead a team responsible for painting a picture of the world 3-5 years from now to help accelerate businesses' leap into the future. This person will drive the editorial vision and content strategy that explores key consumer, cultural and business shifts at the intersection of connection and technology. This person is an ace editor and writer with strong acumen around engaging a marketing audience. They will be able to establish a more provocative stance for Facebook IQ in the marketing industry and deliver content that energizes our audience to make bold decisions to meet the future. They are a stellar storyteller who can logically connect complex or seemingly unrelated ideas and distill robust methodologies into relatable narratives. They know how to build an audience and inspire them long term through substance and style. They have a keen eye and discerning taste to ensure we deliver high caliber design and writing. The leader will know how to lead within the organization, through their team, across its partners and forward with a strategic mindset. The experienced leader will be responsible for developing, setting and executing our new editorial vision, leading the strategy and activating through people leadership. They will be responsible for leading and growing a diverse team that delivers impact, as well as contributing to the global strategies across the organization. The candidate needs to be a passionate people and team manager, including setting direction, building plans, and coaching teams for success. The leader will have a strong external network which is leveraged for learning and idea sharing.
Head of Facebook IQ Editorial, Insights Marketing Responsibilities
* Set the content strategy to drive new insights/foresights editorial vision and integrated marketing activities
* Craft a provocative and resonant editorial presence for Facebook IQ in the industry
* Identify and launch a handful of robust annual insights/foresights flagships that can drive brand awareness and equity, as well as engagement in Facebook IQ across digital and social channels
* Lead a team of seasoned content strategists and writers and inspire them to do their best work
* Drive content innovation across our formats and channels
* Collaborate with cross-functional partners (e.g., Industry Marketing, Events, Global Customer Marketing, Communications, Digital) on opportunities to leverage and scale work via major marketing moments, campaigns and channels to reach relevant audiences
* Ensure the right level of alignment, consistency and flexibility in approach across the Global Business Marketing organization in an effort to scale impact globally while meeting regional needs
Minimum Qualifications
* BA/BS degree, or equivalent, in marketing, communications, journalism or related field
* 12+ years experience in marketing or advertising or journalism, developing editorial strategies, provocative content and integrated marketing programs
* 6+ years of experience as a people manager and in building and fostering diverse teams
* Proven track record as a skilled writer and editor in their own right and can uplevel our insights storytelling
* Experience attracting and building relationships with audiences over time through engaging content
* Connection with the intersection of culture and technology
* Demonstrated understanding of the future of marketing
* Knowledge in interpreting complex data and research and develop impactful data-drive storytelling
* High caliber presenter to represent the Facebook IQ in the industry
* Communication skills, with experience communicating with senior executives across multiple functional areas
* Experience influencing cross-functional teams and leaders
