If you are looking for a technical manufacturing position with an opportunity to grow, Emerson/American Governor Hydropower Solutions has an exciting opportunity for you! Based in our Bucks County, PA (Ivyland) location, you will be part of the team that uses manufacturing blueprints to build, troubleshoot and test electrical control panels used in the clean, renewable energy sector.
As an Assembly Technician you will:
* Assemble electrical/mechanical products, wires, electrical and automation products, panels, cabinets and sub-assemblies in a climate-controlled facility.
* Point-to-point wiring of internal panel components such as PLCs, relays, motor starters, and VFDs.
* Inspect or test wiring installations, assemblies, or circuits for resistance factors or for operation and record results.
* Read and interpret schematic drawings, diagrams, blueprints, specifications, work orders, or reports to determine materials requirements or assembly instructions.
* Confer with supervisors or engineers to plan or review work activities or to resolve production problems.
This is largely a physically active role, standing for long periods of time, fine manipulation of tools, moving materials from various stages of production, and the ability to document results using manual spreadsheets or computer-based software. This role requires the ability to wear all mandated personal protective equipment and to adhere to all company safety and quality practices. Bending, carrying, climbing, driving, lifting, pushing, pulling, reaching, sitting, standing, and walking may be required to perform functions of this position.
Required Education and Experience
1. Minimum High School diploma or equivalent, Associates Degree in Electrical or Electronic Technology preferred.
2. One-year experience in manufacturing environment, specific wiring experience or electrical control panel building highly desired.
3. Mechanical aptitude to assemble electronic components, by reading the prints and schematics from the customer/engineer.
Preferred Education and Experience
1. Completed education beyond Associates Degree in Electrical or Electronic Technology.
2. Two or more years experience as a wiring technician in the assembly of electrical control panels.
