General Function:
This role will help create and build out a modern documentation and user assistance infrastructure for the Belvac products and processes. Experience working with product management team along with engineering, product marketing, sales, and customer service to create resources that document what the product does as well as accelerates the adoption of processes and procedures that will drive integration projects. The Technical Writer will consult with engineering, technical staff and project management team to prepare technical and end user documentation. Develop and promote the adoption of documentation templates for system, database, and program information. This role will function as a primary writer responsible for deliverables of substantial scope and complexity.
Primary Responsibilities:
* Researches product to fully understand product.
* Writes and edits technical documents including reference and product manuals.
* Determines the type of publication that will best serve the project requirements.
* Build and maintain customer aids that go beyond traditional documentation, such as online video, demos, guided tours, and other educational techniques.
* Creates diagrams, charts, and other visual aids to assist readers in understanding a product or process.
* Contribute to the development of quotation documents.
* Create training documentation that are user friendly and easy to follow.
* Assist in planning, scheduling, and tracking documentation work to meet project release dates and customer deliverables.
* Ongoing maintenance of documentation as project or materials change.
* Works closely with project managers to ensure documentation is current and contains the latest information.
* Creates and assist with manuals, users guides, startup procedures, training materials, quotations, policies and flow charts
Education:
BA or BS Engineering or Technical discipline a plus
Experience:
* Minimum 5 years of experience in Machine Design or other Manufacturing Engineering Process or Technical Support.
* Understanding of automation and high-speed manufacturing systems design & engineering
* Can Manufacturing Equipment Supplier experience highly desirable.
* Experience in the beverage or can manufacturing industry Engineering, Operations, Customer Service (e.g. can forming processes, tooling and equipment; coating processes; can handling and line control).
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills to speak effectively at all levels of the Belvac and Customer organizations
* Excellent writing and grammatical skills.
* Ability to present complex data in clear, concise text in various documents, reports, presentations and correspondence.
* Ability to meet deadlines and to work independently.
* Ability to edit and proofread work of colleagues.
* Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
