As Carters continues to grow the Exclusive brands business,we are looking for a candidate with proactive leadership, strong customer focus,organizational and prioritization skills to join our team. The Operations manager will help drive growthand bring a proven record of collaborating effectively with multiplecross-functional teams to successfully ensure supply demand matching andinventory ships on time and in full. The candidate must demonstrate leadership,logical deduction, and knowledge of all parts of the supply chain.
- Manage the process of creating and maintaining buys including processing all slides, shortages, overages, etc. from factories
- Manage open-to-buy and inventory plans for respective business units
- Use good judgment and supply chain knowledge to manage the physical flow of inventory / shipments
- Assist in the coordination with logistics, consolidator/distribution network, and customer service
- Proactive Monitor/Verification order pool to identify and prevent issues
- Respond to daily communication with account as it relates to order placement and shipment status
- Utilize account systems to assist in managing business
- Oversee Order file maintenance and management for respective account
- Provide MAM updates for the forecast
- Perform analytical work and ad hoc analysis/reports to support team
- Create documentation and standardize processes
- Control inventory management activities for accounts that work outside of the normal processes by working closely with Forecasting, Sourcing, Customer Service and Distribution/Transportation to efficiently utilize our inventory investment while maximizing customer service
- Manage Excess for internal reporting, developing available to sell (ATS) support materials, working with off-price team for selling off product, leading meetings with Inventory team
- Manage seasonal production calendar
- Manage resolution of problems related to customs requirements, warehouse shipping errors, and logistic issues
- Proactively identify and communicate opportunities to decrease inventory investment and improve customer service coverage to meet or exceed inventory and customer service goals. Recommend system or process enhancements
- Position communicates with external customers regarding inventory management and availability
- Lead and develop Operations Analyst and Sr Operations Analyst
- Process and supply chain capability enhancement
Experience and Skills
- 3-5 years planning/forecasting experience required, experience with short life cycle products and global sourcing preferred
- College degree or equivalent experience required, Supply Chain related degree & APICS certified preferred
- Strong numeric, analytical, and critical thinking skills
- Ability to combine analytical skills with practical business knowledge
- Excellent communication, analytical, leadership, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work across organizational boundaries and levels
