JOB TITLE: Assembler
DEPARTMENT: Cawker City LOCATION: Cawker City, KS
AGCO, a global leader in the design, manufacture and distribution of agricultural solutions, has an exciting career opportunity for an Assembler to join our team in Cawker City, KS. The assembler, under general supervision, performs duties related to the setup and assembly of agricultural equipment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
All Areas:
* Maintain a neat, clean and organized work area.
* Work according to all company safety rules and regulations.
* Participate and contribute in a team environment in an effort to reduce costs and help promote other company objectives.
* Must have a good attitude and be willing to accept new assignments, such as working in either plant or other departments as needed.
* Must have good attendance and be willing to work the hours needed to get the product out.
* Must be quality conscious and check parts and/or completed product for imperfections.
* Must have a good sense of balance and be able to work from heights of up to 14 ft.
* Properly use and care for all tools.
Large and Small Parts Assembly:
* Must be able to interpret shop drawings and assemble parts according to assembly procedures.
* Must be able to operate pneumatic tools.
* Must be able to read and use tape measurer correctly.
Setup:
* Must be able to read and understand assembly instructions.
* Must be able to operate pneumatic tools.
* Must be able to read and use tape measurer correctly.
Qualifications:
* Must have basic mechanical knowledge and the ability to use basic hand tools.
* Must have a basic understanding of single part engineering drawings.
* Good organization skills, ability to work on multiple assignments simultaneously
* Basic math skills
* Demonstrated strong verbal and written communication skills.
* Demonstrated leadership skills, showing motivation, organization and accountability.
* Function as part of a team, both direct and cross-functional.
* Strong work ethic and able to work under minimal supervision
* Detail oriented
Knowledge & Experience:
* High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred.
* Forklift experience preferred
* Overhead hoist experience preferred
Physical Demands and Work Environment:
* Must wear the proper personal protective equipment (PPE): Steel-toed boots, protective eyewear, hearing protection, and hand protection.
* Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time
* Ability to balance, stoop, kneel or crouch.
* Ability to lift up to 70 lbs.
* Withstand environmental temperatures working inside and outside.
* Exposed to moving mechanical parts and factory noise.
* Must be able to assist in Beloit, KS facility as needed.
