Job Title: Material Handler
Department: A46
Classification: Non-exempt hourly, starting at $13.50, up to $18 depending on experience
Reports to: Sr. Production Manager/Production Supervisor
Job Summary
The Material Handler receives, stores, and distributes material, tools, equipment and products within the plant, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of all job functions.
Job Responsibilities
* Responsible for reporting inventory discrepancies to the supervisor
* Understands Shipping dock layout
* Can utilize a forklift to place parts for parts presentation
* Can make sound decisions to promote safety, quality and customer service
* Ability to communicate with Team Leader/Material Expeditor to facilitate parts that are short
* Adhere to all safety standards
* Compliant and understand all GSI and OSHA required forklift training
* Directly responsible for the following KPIs: SCOT and Damages
* Ability to promote and enforce 5S standards
* Understands the preparation for order pulling and pallet requirements
* Ability to accurately scan inventory in and out of the cell using RF and handheld scanner
* Must be able to create barcodes for part identification
* Ability to accurately locate parts in inventory tracking software as well as in the physical warehouse
* Can understand and explain the paperwork requirements for material handling function (Dock Pulls, Tugger Sheets) (Shipping- Receiving Docs)
* Ability to access, understand, and explain Cell Job List
* Safely load materials on to and off of warehouse racks
* Understands quality requirements for part presentation
* Ability to accurately receive purchased parts using Receiving SAP
* Ability to aid in cycle counting and accurately perform cycle counts while pulling parts from warehouse
Ability to use any of the following additional handling equipment:
* Heavier capacity lifts
* Coil crane(s)
* The yard dog
* Extended length material carts
* Combi Lift
* Stand Up Lift
* Sit Down Lift
* Can locate and maneuver extended material in and out of racks
* Can create, package, and load LTL or UPS shipments
* Understands location maintenance
* Certified GSI Forklift Train the Trainer
* Implement all aspects of AGCO Lean and Quality Management systems.
* Other responsibilities as assigned.

Essential skills
Education
High school diploma or GED.
Qualifications and Experience
* Minimum one year previous manufacturing or warehouse experience preferred.
* Successful completion of GSI and OSHA forklift training required within one week of start date.
* Basic computer skills.
* Ability to read a tape measure.
* Ability to read, write and use basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication and division).
* Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to follow precise instructions.
* Ability to communicate effectively with peers, managers and across departments.
Supervisory Responsibility
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
Work Environment
While performing the duties of this job, the employee works with or near to moving trucks, trailers and fork trucks and near large machinery and equipment daily. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud. The employee is exposed to a variety of extreme conditions including temperatures ranging from 40F to 105F.
Physical Demands
The physical demands here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential job functions of this job.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl and use hands and fingers to handle or feel; and reach, push, and pull with hands or arms. The employee must be able to stand for up to twelve hours per day. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
Ability to climb step ladders and rolling ladders/stairs, step on and off, and walk safely on any type of loading trailer or container, and work inside or outside in variable temperatures.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
The employee must wear personal protective equipment (i.e. eye protection, hearing protection, safety shoes, gloves, sleeves, etc.)
