DESCRIPTION
Amazon Advertising is one of the fastest growing businesses within all of Amazon! This is a unique opportunity within Global Sales Operations (GSO) to be part of the Business Excellence and Sales Transformation (BEST) team to drive business, data, and process transformation initiatives. You will be at the forefront of designing innovative solutions for our Sales teams by optimizing the process, increasing sales productivity, and growing booked revenue.
We are seeking a problem solver that is results-oriented, with expertise in developing business analytics, forecasting, predictive, and prescriptive models. You will be responsible for data analytics, developing data models, creating business logic, statistical analysis, and creating visualization in custom sales tools or QuickSight. You will also have the opportunity to experiment with scripts in python, R or SQL to create POCs, pilot them and refine insights and recommendations for the sales teams. Once proven, you will work with data engineers and SDEs to scale the solution for globally. You will also be in the forefront of creating performance metrics and KPIs to improve quality, consistency, productivity, and revenue growth for the ad sales teams. You will also work with first party (1P) and third party (3P) data sources required to meet sales needs.
Roles and responsibilities include:
Develop and implement analytical solutions for strategic initiatives and technology solutions to solve large-scale, business critical problems.
Analyze the customer and business issues at individual and aggregate level to draw key insights and inform programs and business prioritizations.
You regularly interact with business teams on matters concerning business logic, usage, accuracy, modeling, and metrics.
You are an expert in understanding data sources, pipelines, latency, their interdependencies and limitations. You will be responsible for Extracting-Transforming-Loading (ETL) for analysis and reporting.
You are accountable for the quality, accuracy, validation, and adoption of the analytical solutions that you develop jointly in partnership with process and technology transformation leads.
Your analysis and coding practices are exemplary in terms of clarity, simplicity, error handling, and documentation. You are a simplifier: you continuously decompose complex problems into simple, straight-forward solutions.
Ensure data quality throughout all stages of acquisition and processing, including such areas as data sourcing/collection, ground truth generation, normalization, and mapping.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
5+ years experience with data analysis, predictive modeling, and visualization tools.
3+ years of designing innovative data driven solutions to provide insights and recommendations to business teams.
3+ year of experience in creating business or financial metrics and KPIs, and performance reporting.
Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, engineering, finance, or mathematics.
Experience in writing SQL, Python, or R scripts and code.
Experience with machine learning techniques such as classification, regression, and correlation analysis, or other parametric analysis.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
8+ years experience with data analytics, predictive modeling, and visualization tools.
Master's degree in computer science, information systems, engineering, finance, or mathematics.
Track record of diving into data to discover hidden patterns and of conducting error/deviation analysis
Ability to develop experimental and analytic plans for data modeling processes, use of strong baselines, ability to accurately determine cause and effect relations
Understanding of relevant statistical measures such as confidence intervals, significance of error measurements, development and evaluation data sets, etc.
