The Opportunity

Seeking an innovative and passionate Director of Omnichannel Platform to drive the strategy and execution for the next generation of Contact Center as a Service (CCaS) on the cloud as part of the Ally Digital Solution team. The ideal candidate will be a change catalyst that not only finds innovative technology solutions but drives executional excellence and delights customers and partners alike. In this transformational role you will be a key voice in product planning and prioritization meetings for our new Enterprise platform, heavily influencing the technical direction of each sprint and quarterly development cycles.

The Director of platform will be building omnichannel routing, integrating with AI/ML bots and building data pipeline capabilities across, voice, chat and secure messaging/email channels across all lines of business, using Genesys pure cloud platform and AWS. This is an opportunity to influence the culture of our technology team and the operating model through which we build world-class software. The Director of Omnichannel Platform leader will be a key contributing member within the Ally Digital Solutions leadership team and influence the strategic direction of the organization, representing the technical aspects of the business and ensuring that the technology is positioned to enable the businesss strategic goals.

The Work Itself

* Set the vision: You will be adept at partnering closely with Executives and Product teams to uncover technical platform features/capabilities and build platform that scales to future needs while being focused on security, stability and reliability.
* Collaboration: You will collaborate at all levels of the Ally technology team including Enterprise architecture to influence product strategy by striking a balance between short term deliverables with long term strategic capabilities for the business
* Hire and develop top talent: You will attract, retain and grow a lean and multidisciplinary engineering team. You will build, inspire, coach the team on all aspects of leadership and software development. You must be good at managing yourself and the team and their priorities. You wil build a culture that fosters innovation and inspires colleagues to change status quo.
* Drive results: You are an excellent communicator, a self-starter and a missionary builder with a demonstrated track record of taking ideas from concept to production and leading teams to deliver with quality
* Drive operational excellence: You will establish a culture of executional excellence by establishing metrics and processes to provide senior leadership clear visibility into platform roadmap, availability and performance. You understand the internal and external relationships between technology, processes and business context
* You help build an agile, inclusive, collaborative team. You listen and act to create win-win situations

The Skills You Bring

* 7+ years of software engineering experience and a bachelors degree in a technical field or an equivalent combination of experience and education
* Expert-level understanding and implementation of distributed system design and cloud native architectures (AWS preferred) at scale in production
* 5+ Prior experience building containerized REST APIs, Microservices (Node.Js) and data pipelines (Amazon kinesis/Spark/Apache Flink) required
* Hands-on experience building frontend (JavaScript) and backend database integrations
* Experience integrating with Integrated Voice Response(IVR) with Natural Language Understanding models, conversation AI and speech to text is preferred. Ex: Rasa, lex
* Enforce performance & code quality standards through peer code reviews and automated testing
* Assist with hiring, onboarding and mentoring of new developers for your team
* Create and/or updating technical documentation
