Strategy, Digital, & Innovation (SDI)
Strategy, Digital & Innovation group is responsible for Corporate Strategy and its Digital and Innovation teams. The group positions Wells Fargo for the future by enhancing the companys focus on planning for the digital future and investing in the customer experience. The group leads corporate strategic planning; defines and manages digital platform standards and capabilities; and manages innovation priorities, opportunities, and companywide efforts to drive transformation. The team works closely with the companys Technology Group and business lines to deliver digital solutions and innovation to customers that are integrated, intuitive, and seamless across channels.
The Roles
These are 3 newly created roles within the Digital Platforms organization. The Digital Operations Leaders will lead the Digital team responsible for cross-functional operational execution, with focuses on Strategy, Initiatives Management & Portfolio Governance, and Program Management. These leaders will report to the Head of the Digital Ops and be responsible for developing the vision and associated execution tactics to achieve success.
Digital Ops Leader- Strategy:
This role will lead the development of an end to end roadmap for the future as well as execution of the tactics horizontally across all aspects of the Digital business.
Digital Ops Leader- Initiatives Management & Portfolio Governance:
This role will include all areas ranging from initial investments/planning and ongoing monitoring of the operational and financial health of the portfolio. This will include solid Digital routines/disciplines to ensure portfolio success metrics and drive productivity.
Digital Ops Leader- Program Management:
This role will lead the execution of all internal/external Digital programs/projects, as well as developing and driving external relationships to further the Digital mission.
These leaders will work directly with senior management on key issues and must have the ability to provide solutions and execute; requiring interactions with Technology, the LOB, Legal, Risk, Compliance, Audit and various other enterprise functions. These leaders must be able to manage a diverse set of competing priorities to deliver on high exposure, high impact, and complex issues. These individuals will lead a team of digital professionals and influence cross-functional teams to strategize, prioritize, implement and measure our success.
Candidates should have experience working in a matrixed organization and building and leveraging relationships to drive execution. These leaders should be strategic thinkers, have strong communication skills, a proven history of leading teams, being data and outcome driven, and have a history of driving strategies to a successful implementation with positive outcomes.
Key responsibilities and accountabilities include the following:
* Develop and lead a high performing team of professionals focused on driving out the overall Digital mission
* Evangelize the mobile vision and roadmap with stakeholders throughout the company
* Partner closely with all control partners, front line business units, product groups and others to drive the strategy
* Obtain appropriate strategic buy-in and help solve complex issues in conjunction with program leaders, product leaders, and channel leaders
* Advocate on behalf of the team on key decisions, requirements, customer needs, etc. Ensure understanding of the risk mitigation program, so that we can make the best changes for our customers and company
* Lead a team of digital managers/consultants
* Function as a key member of a high-performing, respected, collaborative leadership team
* Ensure strong risk management practices are created and maintained
The Candidate
The successful candidates will possess a strong understanding of digital product/channel management, have strong understanding of digital and be able to expertly communicate across the business and enterprise at all levels. Critical success factors will include the ability to manage effectively in a matrixed organization, develop partnerships with many stakeholders and lead through influence. The candidates will need to have a strong understanding of mobile, customer expectations and needs and the ability to translate a vision into execution. The candidates must take a data-driven approach to advocate for change, and to enable decision-making, and will be a strong collaborator, balancing the needs of the customer, team members and business in their day-to-day decision making. The roles require a sense of urgency, passion for results, and personal accountability for achievement.
Required Qualifications
* 10+ years of leadership experience
* 10+ years of experience in one or a combination of the following: digital customer experience, digital product/program management, digital platforms, or digital consulting
Other Desired Qualifications
* Seasoned leader with 12+ years of experience of industry experience driving strategic change, with strong digital experience
* 8+ years of management experience in a digital, financial services or technology environment
* Proficient in customer insights, business case realization and portfolio management
* Proven and demonstrated leadership skills including relationship building, change leadership, partnering and collaboration skills with clear ability to influence, gain buy-in and negotiate with a diverse group of key business partners/leaders
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills with experience presenting to senior management and ability to articulate key messages around risk, issues, customer impacts, etc. in a straightforward and understandable manner
* Ability to energize and motivate others; thrives in teams; highly inclusive and collaborative with proven ability to lead through influence vs. authority
* Proven success achieving objectives requiring a high level of cooperation from other parts of the organization to collaborate, initiate action planning, manage change, as well as make high impact decisions that advance the progress of the organization
* Excellent problem solving and analytic capabilities utilized to identify improvement opportunities, as well as creating approaches/programs to address those issues
Job Expectations
* Ability to travel up to 25% of the time
