How will you make an impact?

In this role you will support the development and optimization of processes that produce viral vectors. These viral vectors are used in clinical trials that treat or cure patients of life-threatening diseases.

What will you do?

* Maintain various mammalian and insect cell lines for multiple projects
* Expand cell lines for vector production
* Work in a team environment
* Some other functions include: production and testing of Research Cell and Viral Banks (RCB and RVB), transfection or infection of cells, DOEs, process scale up

You will support Upstream Process Development (PD) activities that enables VVS to deliver a scalable manufacturing process to its clients for the purpose of producing viral vector material for clinical use. This will include active involvement in the vector production process and researching/sourcing reagents, equipment and materials for specific activities related to the process. You will work closely with Manufacturing personnel to ensure that the process developed in PD is successfully transitioned to clinical Manufacturing.

How will you get here?

* A bachelor2019s degree in an appropriate area of specialization (molecular biology, virology, biochemistry, microbiology, etc.).
* One year of appropriate experience in academics or industry
* Laboratory experience
* Preferred: hands on experience with cell culture, transfection, rAAV production, familiar with gene therapy vector production

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

* Aseptic Technique
* Working knowledge of modern laboratory procedures
* Multi-task

Work Schedule

This position is scoped for 0800-1700 with an hour for lunch M-F, however a successful applicant will be expected to work outside of that scope and weekends (1-2 weekend days/month) to support on-going projects. Additionally there is potential to pick up overtime.
