How will you make an impact?

The Sr. Business Analyst role is responsible for providing key business analytics and insights to the sample preparation product management and finance teams. She/He should be a strategic thinker and have experience with financial modeling and forecasting in Excel. In addition, this person should be able to coordinate project activities on a smaller project and work with a project manager for larger efforts.

What will you do?

* Work closely with product management and finance teams on strategic projects in support of the development of the sample preparation business strategy and roadmap.
* Build and maintain KPI dashboards for the business that include revenue, units sold, margin, customer type/ segment, channel, and other information as required.
* Consistently apply a consultative approach with internal customers and seek to understand the business strategy and key insights needed to make decisions.
* Take the lead in developing solutions and improving business processes to maximize efficiency and minimize manual data processes.
* Evaluate information gathered from multiple sources, reconcile conflicts, and distinguish user requests from the underlying true needs.
* Strong results orientation and proficiency in problem solving and organizational agility.

How will you get there?

* Bachelor2019s Degree in Finance, Economics, Math, Accounting, Business Management, Science or a related discipline.
* 2-4 years2019 experience in roles with increasing levels of responsibility and a minimum of 2 years of business analysis experience.
* Interest in life sciences and diagnostic markets and contributing to Thermo Fisher2019s COVID-19 response efforts.
* Prior experience with or strong interest in learning PowerBI or Tableau. Experience with SQL or other programming tools would be a plus.
* Prior experience with or strong interest in learning SAP and inventory management systems.
* Strong analytical skills. Ability to deal with ambiguity and the corresponding capacity to make decisions or recommendations based on potentially incomplete information.
* Strong presentation, negotiating and influencing skills.
* Ability to work in a highly matrixed environment, inclusive of conflict resolution.
* Superior written and verbal communication and team-building skills.
