Job Description:
Raytheon Intelligence, and Space is looking for a Senior Hardware Engineer to join our Hardware Engineering Team on the Cobra Dane program in Colorado Springs, Colorado. The Cobra Dane radar sensor is a ground-based, computer-driven, L-band phased array radar located at Eareckson Air Station (AS) (EAS) on Shemya, Alaska (AK). IT's primary mission is Ground-Based Midcourse Defense (MD) with a secondary mission of Space Situational Awareness (SSA). Operational control for the COBRA DANE radar sensor is under the United States Strategic Command and supported by Air Force Space Command. The position is located in Colorado Springs, CO.
This position is for a Hardware Engineer who has demonstrated skills in obsolescence mitigation and sustainment at the LRU and discrete component level. Knowledge of radar subsystems Mechanical, Electrical, RF, is also desired. As a hardware engineer you will perform design, development, integration, test, and defect resolution for critical legacy radar subsystems. Regular duties include: Sustaining and Obsolescence to the LRU and Discrete component level for the Cobra Dane Radar Site, installation and checkout or HWI related projects, Installation planning - (Removal and Install), Author Sub-Contractor Statement of Work, Author BOEs, ROMs and BOMs, Assemble and Review technical data packages.
The candidate must have experience in obsolescence mitigation, meeting Hardware requirements, schedule deadlines, and project budgets.
The candidate must be a team player and should expect to work in a multi-disciplined team in a collaborative manner.
Required Skills:
* Must be a US Citizen or have US Citizenship
* Must be able to obtain and maintain a SECRET Level Security Clearance
* Willingness to support occasional domestic travel 15% of the time
* Self-starter that can work with little supervision
* Experience with schematic capture and board layout tools as well as Printed Wire Board (PWB) manufacturing
* Experience with Wire-Wrap technology
* Proficiency working in a lab environment and operating RF and standard test equipment including spectrum and network analyzers, signal generators & oscilloscopes
* Experience with taking a design concept from the block diagram or requirements level and reviewing a complete hardware design, and then verify the design via test and integration
* Effective communication skills, both oral and written as well as thorough knowledge of all Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint)

Required Education:
Bachelors Degree in Engineering, or related Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics (STEM) degree program OR a Bachelors Degree of Science (BS) in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics, or related fields and 2+ years of related Phased Array Radar work experience.
Desired Education:
Bachelors Degree of Science (BS) in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Physics, or related fields and 7 years of related work experience.
