Job Summary
Amentum is currently seeking a Data Center Engineer I to support an IT Managed Services program for the Department of Energy. The overall program includes a 500+ work force performing Enterprise IT support, Service Desk, and Telecommunications support across multiple facilities and locations.
Responsibilities:
Supports the Data Center across all dimensions.
Provides technical support to server technicians, network administrators and support personnel for all forms of systems that support the Data Center environment including cabling, power, space planning, and cooling management.
Troubleshoots problems in a Data Center and IT/High Performance Computing (HPC) environments.
Provides end-user support with processes for managing and delivering services that are ITIL conformant.
Supports data center, managing hardware servers, switches, KVM, iDRAC, IPMI or iLO.
Manages installs, configurations and troubleshooting problems associated with service failures or degradations that are related to hardware and software computing devices.
Installs data center hardware (servers, switches, etc.)
Upgrades server BIOS firmware.
Installs cables.
Configures and troubleshoots KVM, iDRAC, IPMI, or iLO.
Monitors data center infrastructure using DCIM.
Assists w/ capacity and power audits.
Performs data center hardware and inventory audits.
Processes incoming shipment, label packages, and maintaining designated storage.
Escorts personnel to and from data center.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements
Must be a U.S citizen
Ability to be cleared at the TOP SECRET (TS) or DOE Q/L level and the ability to maintain clearance throughout the life of the contract.
Must have a Bachelor's Degree and 2 years of experience relative to the requirements.
Preferred Qualifications
Active Clearance at the TS or DOE L level preferred.
