As a Project Accountant in Tempe, AZ you will contribute to our team by:

* Processing accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions
* Monitoring compliance with subcontract and purchase order terms.
* Administering subcontract documentation including subcontracts, revisions, liability, equipment & workers comp insurance, bonding, subguard insurance and conditional/unconditional releases.
* Obtaining required purchase order and insurance documentation.
* Reviewing and understanding financial statements.
* Managing compliance with statutory reporting requirements.
* Understanding of payroll cycles and sales/use taxes in various states, as well as sales tax return completion.
* Identifying and communicating budget variances and areas of financial risk.
* Performing various district accounting duties.
* Reviewing and understanding the flow of transactions through general ledger accounts.
* Other duties as assigned

What you will bring to the role:

* A Bachelors degree in Accounting is required.
* Effective leadership skills
* Able to work independently and perform at a high level of accuracy.
* Highly committed to meet all deadlines and goals.
* Flexible to adapt to evolving scope of duties.
* Effectively prioritize multiple tasks and deadlines.
* Excellent verbal and written communication and desire to work in a team environment.
* Embrace, manage and promote change.
* Desire for ongoing learning.
* Proficiency in Microsoft office applications is expected.
* Experience in PeopleSoft (Enterprise 1) accounting software is a plus.
