Havasu Regional Medical Center
Performs routine clinical and administrative duties in support of assigned area or office such as measuring patients' vital signs, administering medications and injections, recording information in medical record keeping systems, preparing and handling medical instruments and supplies, and collecting and preparing specimens of bodily fluids and tissues for laboratory testing.
To perform this job, an individual must perform each essential function satisfactorily with or without a reasonable accommodation.
Under the supervision of physician or nurse, assists with performing patient assessments and treatments.
Perform many administrative duties, including answering telephones, greeting patients, updating and filing patients medical records, filling out insurance forms, handling correspondence, scheduling appointments, and arranging for hospital admission and laboratory services.
Performs basic diagnostic procedures and specimen collection. Monitors and communicates changes in patient condition. Documents patient care given.
Maintains equipment and medical supplies, including reordering, stocking, cleaning, and troubleshooting. Maintains examination areas.
Performs administrative or clerical duties as assigned, including filing, reception, scheduling, data entry, and patient registration.

Job Requirements
Minimum Education Required
High school diploma or equivalent
Medical Assistant Certification from an accredited program - or -
Certificate of Instruction from Trade school or program and/or 2 years practical experience
Certification(s) Required within 30 days of hire
Basic Life Support (BLS)
Certification(s) Required within six (6) months of hire
Medical Assistant State Certification
Minimum Work Experience Preferred
Front and Back Office experience
Experience in obtaining Prior Authorization
Required Skills
Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must have strong interpersonal, oral and written communication skills. Effective human relations skills are required for interfacing with team members, all levels of staff, physicians, patients, families and other contacts. Must be able to use a computer, telephone, fax machine, calculator, and adapt to new technology as it becomes available and necessary for the job. Must have a positive attitude, an even temperament, and function effectively in a stressful environment or conflict situations.
