DESCRIPTION:

This position is responsible for managing one Supply Planner in the Writing Division's Sourced Supply Chain. This role reports to the Supply Chain Manager for Sourced Finished Goods is responsible for $45M of spend from roughly 25 Asia and domestic suppliers. Delivering service, capacity management, execution of new product development, managing spend, and supplier performance will be key elements of this role. This individual will also work closely with our North American promotional planning team in, Shelbyville TN. Key measurements for success include delivery improvements in quantity fill rates, projecting and managing inventory levels, accurately managing spend, SAP data accuracy and communicating with our external supply base on a 0 to 18-month horizon.

In addition to management of the import supply chain, the position will interface daily with senior supply chain leadership, strategic sourcing, sales planning, finance, demand planning and customer service.

This position requires managing dynamic circumstances and having the ability to make sound independent decisions based on multiple considerations. The ability to implement best in class practices, instill planning rigor, and relentless focus on continuous improvement on the team is critical. Must interface effectively with wide range of personnel under all situations and be both directive and responsive. It is essential to manage effectively at multiple levels of the organization. Communication, interpersonal skills, planning, and personal organization skills are all traits needed to be successful in this role. The ability to make rational decisions based on the data are important. This person can work extended hours, including evening meetings with our overseas partners when necessary, roughly 5-10% travel required.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Direct management of one planner including day-to-day coaching, career development, performance management, and other related functions.
- Responsible for managing the imports planning standard process and driving continuous improvement thru the supply chain organization.
- Day to day execution planning responsibilities for import and domestically sourced items, including PO creation and management, vendor communication, transportation tracking, and customer service communications.
- Long term capacity management of critical platforms over an 18-month planning horizon.
- Actively identify and manage gaps in supplier performance and lead quarterly Supplier performance reviews with suppliers and sourcing.
- Work cross functionally with Sales Planning, NPD/Promotional Planning, Operations, and other to ensure items are brought to market on time and at Standard Cost sustainably service customers for full product life cycle.
- Work within department and with peers to improve SAP utilization, reduce transactional load and increase utilization of systems, and drive standard practices across the team.
- Drive working capital projects through inventory management utilizing existing tools and driving the creation of new tools when necessary
- Support Sourcing product transition projects to ensure maximum productivity savings
- Take a leadership role in development and implementation of team continuous improvement projects.
- Attend and present at during monthly S&OP meetings and project meetings as needed
- Exemplify and drive Newell Brand's culture within the organization.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT:

Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Business, Supply Chain, or related Analytical discipline
5+ years of cross functional supply chain experience and process implementation
1+ years of people management
International purchasing / procurement experience
Highly Proficient in SAP, PowerPoint, Excel, and Power BI
Great communication skills, can clearly communicate ideas at all levels of the organization
Ability to lead cross functional teams
Strong process orientation
Well organized with ability to manage through exception and data tracking
APICS CPIM certification preferred

TRAVEL
Limited domestic & international travel required (5%-10%).
