As the leader of the Engineering System team you will be responsible for defining our strategy and direction for the Engineering System for Edge - from contributing here at Microsoft all the way through to defining engineering excellence for engineers contributing directly to Chromium.

The Microsoft Edge team is looking for a Lead Program Manager to focus on the Engineering System for the Edge Browser. The ES is the system that powers all of the innovation being developed in Edge - and faces new open source challenges with the move to the Chromium code base. The ES Lead PM will work with a team of customer obsessed and data driven PMs, working to understand our developer needs and turn those into strategic features and plans that impact the whole of Edge. Edge Engineering and Program Management organizations are distributed, and you should embrace a highly collaborative environment with a need for highly skilled and adept communications. We expect you to have strong coaching and communication skills and the ability to build strong working relationships with coworkers, partners, and customers in locations around the globe.

Key Responsibilities include:

* Strategic Leadership: Work with the leadership team to define and communicate the Edge Engineering system vision. Drive strategy initiatives and provide thought leadership. Represent and communicate shared vision across the team and with stakeholders across the company.
* Product Definition: Lead a team of Program Managers in defining the engineering systems based on clear customer requirements and research.
* Partner with Engineering: Work closely with the engineering team to deliver experiences and be accountable for the results.
* Build an Inclusive Community: The Lead PM will help to build a culture that thrives on listening and engagement internally as well as externally and ensuring the entire breadth of our customer feedback is engaged effectively by our team.

Required Qualifications:

* 1+ years of professional experience leading a team.
* 3+ years of professional experience in leading and delivering end to end customer solutions
* 5+ years program management or equivalent experience.
* 5+ years of cross group collaboration experience.
* A working understanding of an end to end software development lifecycle.
* Strong project management and people management skills.
* Experience releasing software at a global scale.

Preferred Qualifications:

* Demonstrated success connecting with customers, identifying insights, designing and delivering features to address customer needs.
* A proven track record of partnering with multiple cross-functional teams.
* A demonstrated ability to independently handle complex assignments.
* Exceptional teamwork and commitment to foster a positive and diverse team culture.
* Experience in improving browser-based services
* working knowledge of git
* Track record of building high functioning teams, including recruiting and retaining diverse talent.
* Proven competency in strategic leadership, organizational agility, cross-team collaboration, drive for results, and written and verbal communications
* Experience building software products with diverse engineering teams and stakeholders.
* Experience with Agile methodologies.
* Experience with various telemetry and feedback systems.
