If so, Microsoft Corporation has an immediate opening at its global headquarters in Redmond, Washington for a dynamic, highly motivated attorney to join the team supporting Microsoft's Xbox Gaming Business within the Corporate, External and Legal Affairs (CELA) Gaming team.
This attorney position will play a key role in supporting multiple pillars of the Xbox Gaming Business, including Xbox Game Pass and Gaming Experiences & Platforms. These are business teams responsible for building an industry-leading gaming subscription offer that includes console and PC games, building and supporting a world-class digital storefront, and engineering support of gaming across multiple endpoints. Working closely with other members of Microsoft's Legal Affairs team and Regulatory Affairs, the Gaming attorney will advise on a wide range of business and regulatory issues to support the Gaming business.

* Provide front-line counsel and advice to business executives and others on a broad range of complex and developing legal and business issues related to, and support and evangelize policy and compliance planning around offering a gaming subscription and store experiences in new and emerging markets, development of the cloud gaming platform and other Xbox platform features, provide legal advice on a range of issues including geo-political sensitivities, data protection and privacy, and product and services compliance
* Collaborate with internal and external legal and policy specialists to help analyze and address legal and regulatory issues and implement resulting business and legal strategies
* Lead cross-group projects related to core client initiatives
* J.D. or international equivalent law degree and an active license to practice law in a US jurisdiction
* 6-8 years as a practicing commercial/business attorney or equivalent experience
* Significant experience drafting and negotiating a broad variety of transactional agreements
* Product counseling experience, preferably on regulatory issues such as privacy, accessibility, and safety
* Outstanding analytical, organizational, writing, and oral communication skills, as well as a strong record of effective cross-group collaboration in a diverse and matrixed environment
* Keen business sense, with the ability to think strategically and find creative business-oriented solutions to legal issues, balancing legal risks against business interests in complex and ambiguous situations
* Strong results orientation with a dedicated client focus and ability to establish a trusted advisor relationship with business clients
* Demonstrated ability to work efficiently, meet demanding deadlines in a fast-paced environment, prioritize workflow, and adjust to frequent workload fluctuations
* Ability to work independently while also being a strong collaborator
* Passion for gaming and technology
