This position is associated with the sale of Intel's NAND memory and storage business to SK Hynix (You can read more about the transaction in the press release - https://newsroom.intel.com/wp-content/uploads/sites/11/2020/10/nand-memory-news-q-a.pdf ). The transaction will enhance the resources and potential of the business' storage solutions, including client and enterprise SSDs, in the rapidly growing NAND Flash space amid the era of big data.

As the global leader in the semiconductor industry, Intel possesses many industry-leading SSD technologies including the most capable Quadruple Level Cell (QLC) NAND Flash products. As a Competitive Intelligence Engineer, you will be part of a world-class team that will transition to lead the SSD business at SK Hynix.

This position aligns to Phase 1 of the transaction, which includes the 3DNAND enterprise and client SSD business. Phase 1 is expected to close in late 2021, subject to regulatory approvals and other customary conditions. At deal close, all employees aligned to this phase of the transaction will transition to SK Hynix.

As a member of competitive intelligence engineering CIE team at NPSG you will be making key contribution to NPSGs product development and strategy by investigating both our own products and others.

Your responsibilities include but are not limited to:

* Examine the construct of an SSD, identify the design features for thermal, ESD, EMI, security and assess the cost of the build.
* Tear down ASIC and assess its key parameters such as host interface, media bus, memory bus, CPU cores, process node, metal layers, logic gate count, on-chip memory size, package and cost.
* Examine the power system design of the product, identify the voltage sources for ASIC DRAM NAND and measure the active power consumption of each element while executing different workloads in a Windows or Linux system.
* The ideal candidate should exhibit the following behavioral traits:
* Be able to demonstrate problem solving and troubleshooting skills including lab testing and debug.

* Be Self-motivated, take initiative and to work independently or in a team environment.
* Collaborate with engineers across multiple disciplines

Qualifications

You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates

Minimum Qualifications:

* Bachelors or Masters degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
* Memory storage experience in HDD or SSD product design engineering test system validation or application engineering
* 7+ years of experience with ASIC design and validation
* Hardware design and validation experience with Oscilloscope Logic Analyzer and other common lab instruments
* 7+ years of experience in Windows and Linux operating systems
* 7+ years of experience with NVMe
* 7+ years of experience in Program Language Skills such as Python or other major Object Oriented languages

Preferred Qualifications:

* Storage system integration and application
* Exposure to other memory technologies including DRAM
* Familiarity with PCIe, SATA, SAS
