Financial Analyst- Tax Job Description

Position Summary:

This Financial Analyst position will report to the Vice President- Domestic Tax. This entry level position will primarily provide support to the Indirect Tax team but will assist in other areas of the Domestic Tax function as necessary. It is expected that after an initial assignment with the tax team, there will be potential to move into other roles within Ecolab finance. The ideal candidate will have strong accounting skills with some course work or job experience in tax, as well as, having well developed interpersonal skills, the ability to work effectively as part of a team, and possess a strong attention to detail.

Main Responsibilities:

* Provide support for indirect tax inquiries, including those related to customer support, supporting the business personnel and other miscellaneous questions.
* Research and support for taxability questions in the indirect tax area.
* Vendor Exempt Certificate Management which includes assessing type of transaction and whether it is exempt from sales tax in any jurisdiction.
* Support and assist sales/use tax audits including data gathering, assessment of the rules, auditor communication and processing document requests.
* Preparation of Account Reconciliations for 20+ indirect tax accounts.
* Support and assist business divisions in tax related software testing, TDM set up and other tax technology issues.
* Outsource coordination and supervision for all monthly Sales/Use Tax, and annual Business License compliance
* Assist in other areas of Domestic Tax or on the broader tax team as required

Minimum Qualifications:

* Bachelors degree in Accounting, or CPA license or candidate.
* No immigration sponsorship available

Preferred Qualifications:

* Strong Excel skills
* Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to interact with multiple levels of management.
* 1-2 years tax or accounting experience preferred
* Experience in a Big 4 firm and/or a corporate environment preferred
* Vertex Sales Tax software experience (O Series and/or Q-Series), a plus
* Experience with SAP a plus

Ecolab Inc. sells its products through field sales and corporate account personnel, distributors, and dealers. The company was founded in 1923 and is headquartered in St. Paul, Minnesota.
