* Hands-on programming experience in Java, Spring, Multi-threading, Service Oriented Architectures and RESTful Services
* Deep understanding in crafting, orchestrating and deploying distributed, highly scalable, low latency enterprise level back end solutions
* Experience with distributed messaging systems (e.g. Apache Kafka, RabbitMQ)
* Solid knowledge of data structures, design patterns, architectural styles, API design and applications performance improvement techniques.
* Ability to distinguish/combine relevant SQL and NoSQL technologies to architect the right solution

Retail Store Apps group focuses on design and development of iOS & web based solutions for Apple Retail Business. Applications are used by Apple Retail customers and employees. Our systems are responsible for customer experience & journey within the Apple Store. This journey starts as early as booking an appointment to come into the store. These could be to pick your products during product launch times (very high scale), get support for their products at the Genius Bar or for Today@Apple workshops. Our systems are responsible for deeper customer experience. As part of Retail Store Apps Engineering group, you will be joining a hands-on development team that cultivates creativity and generates novel, highly scalable, secure & fault tolerant solutions to deliver engineering perfection. You will work on adding new integrations, scaling current data flows, and re-imagining existing processes to accommodate developing features and architectures. Innovation driven nature of business ensures that team is continuously looking to explore new technical solutions & building systems with cutting edge technologies. Our work continues to improve experience of millions of Apple customers served via Apple store employees. We are looking for a self-starting, upbeat individual who is a great team player but not afraid to question assumptions or charge head-first into gray areas. Excellent written and oral interpersonal skills are a must to collaborate in our cross-functional environments. The ideal candidate should have 5+ years experience developing large-scale web-based applications using object-oriented languages. The role requires an excellent grasp of technical concepts with a proven understanding of the full development life cycle process with a forward thinking approach, ability and confidence to challenge the status quo.
