What you will do

In this vital role the Senior Manager Alliance Management and Business Development will report to our Director of Commercial Business Development in the Biosimilars Business Unit (BBU) and will support both business alliance management and business development activities. The Senior Manager will work out of our main corporate campus in Thousand Oaks, CA.
Job Responsibilities:
Alliance Management:
* Ensure effective and efficient partnership governance
* Identify, understand, manage and resolve differences between Amgen and partner(s) (e.g. strategy, operating model, process, relative program prioritization, risk tolerance, norms, etc.)
* Ensure Amgens compliance with partnership obligations including contractual commitments and key deliverables and oversee financial aspects of collaboration
* Ensure Amgen decision making is informed by contract terms with partner, partners point of view, and any events that could alter partnership value
* Partner with deal team to provide strategic input into agreement negotiations
* Establish credibility, trust, and respect throughout Amgen and with our partners
Business Development:
* Execute financial analyses required to support BBU portfolio prioritization, scenario analysis, strategic assessments and business development opportunities
* Work closely with cross functional teams to execute valuations and financial modeling
* Synthesize and present analyses to cross functional teams and senior management
* Coordinate with key parts of finance (FP&A, Treasury, Accounting, and Tax) to communicate and assess the impact of transactions

Basic Qualifications:
Doctorate degree and 2 years Business Development/Alliance Management and/or Analytics experience
Or
Masters degree and 4 years of Business Development/ Alliance Management and/or Analytics experience
Or
Bachelors degree and 6 years of Business Development/Alliance Management and/or Analytics experience
Or
Associate's degree and 10 years of Business Development/Alliance Management and/or Analytics experience
Or
High School Diploma / GED and 12 years of Business Development/Alliance Management and/or Analytics experience
Preferred Qualifications:
* Strong quantitative and qualitative analytic skills, specifically financial analysis with an emphasis on valuation (Excel power user)
* Ability to evaluate and interpret complex problems
* Experience interpreting and applying contractual terms to manage a business relationship
* Exceptional written and oral communications skills and have strong presence with management
* High emotional intelligence, coupled with refined interpersonal and relationship management skills
* Proven project management, leadership and facilitation skills
* Ability to interface and influence behaviors and outcomes at all levels internally and externally
* Experience working in pharmaceuticals or biotechnology with the knowledge and ability to work with technical experts
* Experience with solution-oriented negotiations and problem solving
