Job Description

An engineering position in Inventory Data & Enterprise Application Services (IDEAS) Observability group that will play a key role in Architecting / Planning and developing solutions for various critical traditional compute environments, on-prem and public cloud Observability initiatives in the enterprise. Focus is on Metrics and event generation systems for application and infra monitoring (log, metrics evets) , covering existing and open source monitoring tooling, as well as public cloud monitoring services (e.g. AWS Cloudwatch)
Responsibilities:

* Drive engineering and certification of Metrics and event generation observability products.
* Development of custom tooling extension and integrations of monitoring tools with external systems, such as CMDB s, observability tooling like Prometheus, Senesu,+ older generation systems like IBM Tivoli ITM.
* Development infrastructure and service monitoring blueprint and deployment guidelines for operations and application teams.
* Perform data analyses and develop exec summary reporting, based on monitoring metric and event data.
* Follow good engineering practices and concepts and adhere to audit requirements and understand corporate compliance issues and requirements.
Work closely with engineering, and operations, and applications teams across Citi to understand and collect monitoring and data analytics requirements.

Qualifications:

* Minimum 3-5 years Engineering 3rd party observability software products.
* Strong skillset required in Linux (RHEL) and Windows; packaging; OS concepts and services; shell scripting; regular expressions; end-to-end testing; performance/scalability testing; implementing open source solutions; product customizations; Java; JSON.
* Working knowledge of protocols including HTTP LDAP XML Basic knowledge of security (SSL data encryption GS Kit system user accounts)
* Experience with software delivery and documentation tools like Bit bucket, Artifactory, Jenkins, JIRA Confluence
* Successful candidate will share many common traits:
* Analytical thinker quick learner who is capable of organizing and structuring information effectively; Collaborator who is quick to seek the help of colleagues and who recognizes the value of teamwork support and mutual assistance;
* Knowledge of Docker containers Kubernetes will be a plus
* Experience with AWS services, including EC2 and CloudWatch monitoring service
AWS API CloudFormation and Terraform automation development experience will be a plus.
