The IT Business Unit Lead Analyst is a strategic professional who stays abreast of developments within own field and contributes to directional strategy by considering their application in own job and the business. Recognized technical authority for an area within the business. Requires basic commercial awareness. There are typically multiple people within the business that provide the same level of subject matter expertise. Developed communication and diplomacy skills are required in order to guide, influence and convince others, in particular colleagues in other areas and occasional external customers. Significant impact on the area through complex deliverables. Provides advice and counsel related to the technology or operations of the business. Work impacts an entire area, which eventually affects the overall performance and effectiveness of the sub-function/job family.
Responsibilities:
* Contributes to and / or creates internal communications. Creates and prepares reports, metrics and presentations. Provides expertise in own area and an advanced level of understanding of the principles of the sub function.
* Works on mergers & acquisitions and outsourcing / right placement activities.
* Possesses a comprehensive understanding of how own area and others collectively integrate to contribute towards achieving business objectives. Acts as advisor or coach to new or lower level employees; allocates work. Provides in-depth and sophisticated analysis with interpretive thinking to define problems and develop innovative solutions.
* Directly impacts the business by influencing strategic functional decisions through advice, counsel or provided services. Persuades and influences others through comprehensive communication and diplomacy skills.
* Tracks business unit performance against the IT business plan and service level agreements; identifies gaps.
* Acts as subject matter expert to new or lower level employees. Provides evaluative judgment based on analysis of factual information in complicated and unique situations.
* Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.
Qualifications:
* 5+ years experience with project or technology leadership experience
* 3+ years with project management experience
* 3+ years experience working in Financial Services or a large complex environment managing global teams
* Advanced Excel skills for complex data analytics
* Appropriate knowledge in various Finance wholesale products
* Demonstrated ability to lead the organization in managing existing and new risks and initiatives; bringing knowledge and experience to identify control weaknesses, analyze root cause, develop and drive resolutions
* Strong leadership and management skills, demonstrated ability to lead global teams direct and matrix reporting lines.
* Ability to develop and drive major projects with defined milestones and deliverables to resolve risk and control issues. Ability to work effectively in a large global cross-functional organization
* Adept at developing and maintaining effective relationships with key stakeholders, both internally and externally, in order to foster trust and influence key decisions-must have experience with C-suite
* Proven strength with Presentation Skills and ability to tell a story that increase understanding with non-technical resources
* Strong communication skills, written and verbal
* Strong process improvement skills
* A deep passion for technology and technical innovation
* The individual should have highly proficient skills in Microsoft PowerPoint and Excel (including Pivot tables), and MS project, have the ability to learn quickly, work in a fast-paced, environment, take initiative/ownership and take on various assignments/roles.
Education:
* Bachelors/University degree, Masters degree preferred
Partner with multiple colleagues within the organization and other Business Managers to plan and monitor the organization's annual financial budget (headcount and financials) against plan.
Establish and provide oversight of other expenses (e.g., corporate allocations, T&E).
Support the internal financial, staff and headcount, metrics development and production, maintenance and reporting of business management activities.
Conduct analyses to drive further insights and promote continuous process improvement to best practices for the team.
Work with Business Managers to ensure clear and timely reporting of new and emerging business management issues to senior management.
