WymanGordon is the premier forging company for the global aerospace and energy markets. Providing a specialized service, WymanGordon manufactures forged components from high grade titanium and nickel based alloys. Such components are used for jet engines, including fan disks, compressor disks, turbine disks, and shafts. We also produce titanium and steel forgings for airframes, including wing beams, wing boxes, door and window frames, as well as nacelle and landing gear components. WymanGordon also extrudes steel products for use in power plants and oil and gas industry applications. Location Profile

Originally founded in 1883 in Worcester, MA, the WymanGordon Company boasts more than 125 years of forging experience and first manufactured forgings for the aerospace industry during WWI. Recognizing the need for more expansive heavy manufacturing capabilities to support larger and more advanced aircraft designs, the Department of Defense built the forging facility now located in North Grafton, MA in 1946, equipping it initially with an 18,000 ton closeddie press. In 1953, the facility was expanded to include the 35,000 and 50,000 ton presses in what was referred to as the Air Force Heavy Press Program. From this programs inception, WymanGordon was chosen to operate the North Grafton facility due to the companys longterm experience and reputation in the industry. In 1988, WymanGordon purchased the facility outright from the U.S. Government and ran it as a private company until 1999 when WymanGordon was acquired by Precision Castparts Corp. (PCC)

Position Summary

This role involves both a combination of strategic planning as well as customer service. Position responsible for assisting operations management to maintain product flow. Development of robust manufacturing plans to achieve all metrics including throughput earned standard hours and variable costs. The position is also responsible for scheduling raw material in order to provide a smooth flow to manufacturing to meet customer requirements. The individual in this position aids in the preparation of contractual provisions and the administration of contract proposals.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

* Develop a facility models in Factory Planner for use in scheduling facility as well as conducting whatif analyses.
* Analyze and report projected press setups/batches, work center load hours, cycle times, inventory, etc. using Factory Planner.
* Analyze work center capacity and model plan based on infinite capacity or finite capacity as required.
* Development and communication of dynamic manufacturing plans to achieve key results.
* Specs and design changes in Product Engineering and Metallurgy.
* Liaison between all areas of the shop, sales and planning.
* Timely, accurate reports to management and customers.
* Develop policies and procedures that will allow the plant to run from reports generated by the factory planner system.
* Works closely with Estimating for the setup of Bills of Materials and routers.
* Provides scheduling information to shop personnel for the RMC process.
* Liaison with customer sourcing.
* Coordinates scheduling of all operations within Grafton facility to assure timely delivery to customers.
* Coordinates customer shipping requirements with certified scheduling reports.
* Preparing bids and negotiating specifications and contractual provisions.
* Coordinate and monitor the scheduling, pricing, and technical performance of company programs.
* Sets up new account information and resolves customer issues/problems.
* Performs additional tasks as required.

Experience & Education

* College degree and/or equivalent supply chain experience.
* APICS certification or supply chain courses preferred.
* Knowledge and experience with planning systems (ERP, MRP, etc.).
* Excellent communication and analytical skills.
* Minimum 4 years experience in Heavy Manufacturing (Steel making, automotive or forging preferred)
* Familiarity with metal manufacturing processes.
* Theoretical and practical understanding of the Theory of Constraints.
