Your Contribution at AIG
In this role, you will support the Commercial Mortgage Lending department in their continued work to effectively originate high-quality mortgage loans. It is a challenging and exciting role that will give you the opportunity to be a part of a global high-functioning team. Specifically, you will:
* Support multiple types of transactions including: whole loans, syndicated loans and CMBS, with deals sizes that vary significantly from $10 million to $1 billion.
* Review and summarize third party reports including: appraisals, engineering reports as well as understand environmental assessments, zoning letters, credit reports, background checks, credit references and legal documents.
* Independent preparation and completion of credit memos on most transactions.
* Review leases and property-level documents.
* Communicate with brokers, agents and principals to complete strategic research projects and analysis to validate underwriting assumptions.
* Conduct market research on the economy, lending market trends and real estate market research on comparable properties to determine competitive amenities, rents and sales prices using CoStar, Reis, Axiometrix and Bloomberg.
* Perform advanced valuation and cash flow analysis using Argus.
* Interact closely with the loan originators, closers, legal and portfolio management team.
* Understand internal systems and create quarterly accounting reports of the CMBS holdings
What we are looking for:
* BA/BS degree required (preferably in Finance and/or Quantitative) and an advanced degree a plus.
* 1+ years of commercial real estate experience.
* Ability to learn internal systems and create quarterly accounting reports of the CMBS holdings.
* Robust analytical skills with strong proficiency in MS Excel. The ability to perform market research and work with property cash flow models is necessary.
* Must have strong organizational, leadership, written and oral communication and quantitative skills.
