* This position provides management and leadership for the Abbott Bioresearch Center (ABC) engineering maintenance and EH&S groups.
* The organization executes a wide range of engineering disciplines including capital project engineering, validation engineering, instrumentation and controls engineering, manufacturing technical support, utility and energy engineering, CAD / Design services, facility and production maintenance, and EH&S.
* The department primarily supports ABC Operations as well as R&D functions and capital projects for site.
* This position must effectively lead multi-discipline teams supporting all activities at the site in a manner that provides innovative and cost-effective facilities that meet plant manufacturing and R&D goals.
* This individual must establish and maintain active and appropriate communications with key management to achieve their project needs. Projects must be coordinated so that they are integrated with existing production and utility operations to eliminate or minimize interference with these operations and to ensure adherence to Abbvie Standards and Specifications.
* A high degree of coordination with the ABC site leadership and Abbvie corporate representatives is required to ensure proper manning of their projects
Qualifications
* Bachelors degree in chemical, mechanical, electrical engineering is required to provide technical expertise. Project management and project accounting experience is necessary to understand overall project planning and execution and financial aspects of executing large capital projects.
* 10 + years experience in the pharmaceutical industry
* Experience with supporting biologics production preferred.
* 8 years Project Management experience required.
* 4 - 6 years Supervisory / Management experience with budget responsibility.
* Knowledge of Abbvie Engineering standards
* Demonstrated leadership and team building skills
* Strong problem solving abilities
* Proven track record of managing projects through to completion
* Excellent Communication Skills with all layers of management
