JOB SUMMARY

The purpose of this position is to manage the Warehouse Operations: shipping/receiving, storing, and issuing materials, equipment and/or other items from stockroom, warehouse, or storage yard. Responsible for the safe receipt, storage, retrieval and timely dispatch of goods.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Maintains receiving, warehousing, and/or distribution operations by initiating, coordinating, and enforcing program, operational, and/or personnel policies and procedures.

Acts as liaison with business leaders, department managers and other internal and external clients to forecast workload demand, project deliverables and resolve any conflicting priorities.

Manages, plans, coordinates, inbound/outbound receiving schedules and oversees the workload, deadlines and day-to-day activities of the warehouse team to ensure effective delivery of services.

Determines proper storage methods, identification, and stock location based on turnover, environmental factors, and physical capabilities of facilities.

Controls inventory levels by conducting physical counts; reconciling with data storage system.

Safeguards warehouse operations and contents by establishing and monitoring security procedures and protocols.

Maintains physical condition of warehouse by planning and implementing new design layouts; inspecting equipment; issuing work orders for repair and requisitions for replacement.

May maintain records on the use and/or damage of stock or stock handling equipment.

May perform other duties as assigned or requested by management.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

Provides formal supervision to individual employees within single functional or operational area. Recommends staff recruitment, selection, promotion, advancement, corrective action and termination. Plans and monitors appropriate staffing levels and utilization of labor, including overtime. Prepares and delivers performance appraisal for staff. Mentors and coaches team members to further develop competencies. Leads by example and models behaviors that are consistent with the company's values.

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE

High School diploma or GED (General Education Degree) equivalent required. Bachelor's degree preferred. Minimum of 3 years related work experience in warehouse, shipping and receiving.

Previous Supervisory related work experience in warehouse, shipping and receiving.

CERTIFICATES and/or LICENSES

Certified forklift operating license required.

COMMUNICATION SKILLS

Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong organizational and analytical skills. Ability to provide efficient, timely, reliable and courteous service to customers. Ability to effectively present information. Ability to respond effectively to sensitive issues.

FINANCIAL KNOWLEDGE

Requires advanced knowledge of financial terms and principles. Ability to calculate intermediate figures such as percentages, discounts, and commissions. Conducts advanced financial analysis.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to comprehend, analyze, and interpret documents. Ability to solve problems involving several options in situations. Requires intermediate analytical and quantitative skills.

OTHER SKILLS and ABILITIES

Ability to lead and motivate others and to perform associated paperwork. Working knowledge of warehousing operations.

Ability to use computer system to record materials received and shipped. Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.

Physical ability to assist with warehouse operations. Able to lift 50 lbs.

Decisions made with thorough understanding of procedures, company policies, and business practices to achieve general results and deadlines. Responsible for setting work unit and/or project deadlines. Errors in judgment may cause short-term impact to department.
