About the role:
This position includes development, validation, and transfer of analytical methods which meet internal and regulatory requirements for medical devices and combination products. Supports new product development process through method development and testing support. Responsible for serving internal BSC analytical lab customers, and maintaining lab instruments and test methods. Adheres to corporate and department SOP's to achieve quality and regulatory agency compliance. Role will require teamwork and collaboration with department personnel and lab customers.
Your responsibilities include:
* Transfer and develop analytical test methods using a variety of analytical techniques primarily focused on chromatography to support medical device and combination device development
* May represent the analytical team to and coordinate work for R&D project teams
* Perform hands-on testing in the analytical laboratory
* Prepare test data summary reports/documentation to communicate results to lab customers and the technical community
* Complete tasks on analytical lab documentation and quality records
* Qualify and maintain test instrument and create associated documentation
* Demonstrates a primary commitment to patient safety and product quality by maintaining compliance to the Quality Policy and all other documented quality processes and procedures
* Applies scientific principles and company policies and procedures, analyzes data or situations, and exercises judgment to recommend solutions to solve problems.
What we're looking for in you:
Basic Qualifications:
* BS degree in Chemistry
* 2-4 years industry experience in analytical chemistry in particular with chromatographic and pharmaceutical cGMP analysis; medical device or pharmaceutical experience preferred.
* Chromatography experience (liquid, gas, ion chromatography) with both routine testing and method development
* Technical report writing experience
Preferred Qualifications:
* Experience with method transfer, development, and validation
* Combination product analytical chemistry testing experience
* Waters liquid chromatography instrumentation (e.g., Waters Aquity H-Class UPLC with PDA) and Empower software experience
* Agilent gas chromatography instrumentation (e.g., Agilent 6890 GCMS) with ChemStation or MassHunter software experience
* UPLC, HPLC, GC, IC, and GPC experience
