The Desktop Engineer II is responsible for the creation, implementation and maintenance of technical solutions for the standard BDO PC environment with a focus on application repackaging. The Desktop Engineer II also provides input and influences the planning, development, deployment and maintenance of the workstation image, PC environment management systems and Office365 products and technologies. This role is charged with providing analysis and feedback regarding process and system improvements in desktop automation and management technologies. Additionally, the Desktop Engineer II maintains, and assesses for continual improvements, a secure PC environment through the effective implementation of desktop security solutions and policies.

Qualifications

Education:
- HS diploma or GED, required
- Bachelors degree in Computer Sciences, Information Systems or other equivalent field, preferred

Experience:
- Three (3) or more years of experience in technical support OR one (1) or more years of experience as Desktop Engineer, required
- Two (2) or more years of experience with software development or coding solutions, preferred
- Two (2) or more years of experience with enterprise workstation management solutions, preferred

License/Certifications:
- CompTIA Security+ Certified Professional certification, preferred
- Systems Security Certified Practitioner (SSCP) credential, preferred

Software:
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Windows, required
- Experience with Microsoft .NET development, preferred
- Experience with Microsoft C development, preferred
- Experience with Citrix XenDesktop and/or XenApp, preferred
- Experience with the following products and/or technologies, preferred:
Wise Package Studio
Microsoft System Center Endpoint Protection
Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager
CarbonBlack Application Control Solution
Microsoft SQL
Microsoft Active Directory
Scripting tools, such as VBScript, Wisescript and/or Powershell

Other Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Strong verbal and written communication skills

- Capacity to work in a deadline-driven environment while handling multiple complex projects/tasks simultaneously with a focus on details
- Capable of successfully multi-tasking while working independently or within a group environment

- Capable of communicating and interacting with all levels of employees and management

- Solid analytical and diagnostic skills to identify issues/problems, and develop recommendations for effective resolution
- Advanced knowledge and understanding of standard applications and all aspects of desktop environments
- Basic to intermediate knowledge and understanding of cryptography technologies, including encryption, key management and secure protocols
- Basic to intermediate knowledge and understanding of networking and communication technologies, including TCP/IP protocol, remote access methods, firewalls and wireless protocols
