This position is part of our Advanced Safety & User Experience segment out of Troy, MI.

Summary:

Plan and coordinate software development activities of collocated and/or international/distributed software engineering teams to ensure software deliverables are completed on time, on cost, per project schedule and meet software quality standards with supporting documentation (V-SPL.2).

It is expected that the SYS & SW PM acts as a Primary interface to Customer for engineering deliverables, time plan and execution.

Responsibilities:

* Monitoring that engineering execution is following standard work and best practices. The work products comply with applicable organization policies and procedures.

* Plan and coordinate software development activities of collected or international/distributed software engineering teams to ensure software deliverables are completed on time per project schedule and meet software quality standards.

* Iteration- Software Project Management, daily assignment of tasks.

* Feature/Function planning and tracking.

* Error estimation and tracking (Burn downs, mountain charts).

* Monitor and measure performance at a project level (metrics).

* Track and plan inputs/output deliverables from/to other competencies.

* Primary point of contact to stakeholders for all items related to software project management.

* Negotiate and plan timing and content of deliveries with customer, subcontractors and project team.

* Drive software process adherence and compliance with quality assurance standards.

* Identify opportunities for quality and productivity improvement and implement appropriate initiatives.

* Organize and track equipment, tools, and team infrastructure needs.

* Represent software in product development process reviews/status reporting to project and line management.

* Software Supplier management activities including supplier selection, and monitor & control of engagement.

Must Haves (Basic Qualifications):

* Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Embedded Software Development, Mechatronics or similar.

* 5+ years experience as a Project Lead or Project Manager in an Automotive setting.

* Proficiency on technical reporting and summary, must be able to understand and communicate at a high level technical issues.

* Planning / organizing skills, able to provide quick answers in terms of his or her scope of responsibilities.

* Capable to manage at least one big project in development phase or few in maintenance phase.

* Excellent client facing and internal communication skills.

* Ability to work in a virtual team environment.

* Ability to network & collaborate with multiple stakeholders in a matrixed organization.

* Team oriented and self-driven.

* Automobile Body Control Module experience.

* AUTOSAR knowledge and project experience.

* Must be capable to really own her/his current projects and work with diligence to meet committed goals.

* Previous solid hands on experience in embedded software development.

Nice to Haves (Preferred Qualifications):

* Masters Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Embedded Software Development, Mechatronics or similar.

* 7+ years experience as a project Lead or Software Project Manager.

* Prior experience in Automobile Cybersecurity and Functional Safety (ASIL).

* Proven track record in negotiating and influencing.

* Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Project or similar tools used for Software Project Management.

* Agile.
