The SCOT Strategic Initiatives team is responsible for identifying and delivering on the biggest opportunities to improve Amazons end-to-end supply chain. We are looking for a dynamic, organized self-starter to join as a Technical Program Manager. In this role, you will become the expert on Amazons best-in-class supply chain systems and leverage this to drive continuous improvement to customer experience. You will lead technical interactions between cross-functional teams to streamline, automate, and optimize Operations processes. You will interact with senior leadership across several areas of the organization (Retail, Operations, Finance,) and own projects end-to-end: from design to delivery. You will be responsible for converting business and system requirements into tangible functionalities to improve one of the worlds more sophisticated supply chain. Ultimately, you will improve our customer experience by increasing the confidence and trust our customers have that Amazon is the one, best option for want it, click it, have it.
The successful candidate will thrive in an entrepreneurial environment, managing ambiguity and competing priorities to both drive high-level strategic initiatives and get the job done. You will have the ability to take large, complex projects and break them down into manageable pieces, get your stakeholders on board, and then deliver results in timely manner. In this role, your key responsibilities will be:
Engage with WW Operations, Supply Chain, Engineering, and Transportation Experts, Product, and Finance partners to design supply chain automation solutions and develop a multi-year plan to deliver on that functionality
Lead the design and implementation efforts between internal and external teams as well as outside merchants and vendors to develop optimal solutions.
Make appropriate tradeoffs to optimize time-to-delivery vs required functionality
Provide regular updates to senior leadership and key stakeholder
Resolve technical conflicts between organizations across Amazon
Define roles, responsibilities, and desired outcomes for internal cross-functional teams
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
7+ years of Technical Program Management experience in a related industry
5+ years of system design and architecture experience
Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical individuals
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related technical field
Strong organizational skills
Ability to work with technology to develop innovative solutions
Experience with business applications such as Word, Excel and Project
Experience managing development efforts in distributed systems and/or developing large scale web applications
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
A first-hand working knowledge of current web technologies
Experience with business applications such as Word, Excel and Project
3+ years of coding experience in Java, C++ or equivalent language
Experience managing efforts in Unix/Linux environments
Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical individuals
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Track record for being detail-oriented with a demonstrated ability to self-motivate and follow-through on projects
