DESCRIPTION

Amazon Retail is seeking an experienced and hands-on Collections Manager to join our Strategic Account Services team. This person will lead our collections efforts for Amazon Retail (vendors for amazon.com) & Devices (Kindle, Ring, eero, etc.) channels.

The right candidate will be responsible for maintaining excellent relationships with our customers/vendors, internal finance leadership, and cross-functional business partners.

Responsibilities will include talent development; managing and prioritizing workload and achieving results in a fast-paced, growing environment. They will also be tasked with monitoring and delivering on key performance metrics (past dues, cash application rates, customer experience scores, etc.), process improvements, technology adoption and ensuring existing policies and procedures are followed.

Responsibilities
Setting up process priorities and aligning with overall organization priorities.
Driving organizations collection strategy, plays a leaders role in improving collection efficiencies, spearheads development and implementation of collection tools and other automations.
Exploring upstream / downstream improvement opportunities by working with business partners and stakeholders.
Partnering with the business and Tech to scope and implement new technology functionality & enhance existing processes and solutions.
Optimizing global invoicing techniques for the Retail and Non-Retail channels.
Building long term relationship to improve collection life-cycle. Stakeholders and customer management.
Building and maintaining operations performance metrics and continually raising the bar.
Evaluating and communicating accounts receivable controller-ship risks with the Finance Operations, assessing the adequacy of existing controls and implementing new controls as needed.
Operationalizing policies, documentation and implementation, and procedural compliance with the Sarbanes-Oxley Act. This includes developing, modifying and maintaining the operational and design effectiveness of internal controls partnering with Internal Audit.
Ability to lead and contribute in other process areas like billing, cash application, credit notes and deduction management, collections and vendor/customer contact management.
Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines while managing multiple projects.
Ability to work independently in a fast-paced and rapidly changing environment - candidate has to be strong in dealing with ambiguity.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

Basic Qualifications
Bachelors Degree in Finance, Business Management, or a related field
8+ years of Collections experience/Team Management
Demonstrates strong communication (verbal and written) skills and is able to positively influence behaviors and outcomes
Exceptional attention to detail and a work ethic based upon a strong desire to exceed expectations
Experience managing and leading a direct team of 10+ members
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Preferred Qualifications
Customer relationship management
AP or AR experience in B2B, wholesale, big box stores or similar
Strong analytical skills for detailed account reconciliations
Comfort with ambiguity and creative problem-solving
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
