Amazon People eXperience and Technology (PXT) Security needs a world class Technical Program Manager to own and launch programs that focus on Information Security, Data Governance, and Privacy for employee, candidate, and contingent worker data. This role requires working closely with cross-functional teams of technical and non-technical key stakeholders to define business, compliance, and technical requirements, and drive development teams from design through delivery and subsequent operations. As a leader, you will own the entire HR personal data lifecycle, and define and monitor metrics that measure the success of the program. This position involves regular communication with senior management on status, risks, tradeoffs, and compliance strategy. Excellent listening and writing skills, strong technical competency, and superior analytical abilities, problem-solving skills, and judgment are essential to the role.

Qualified candidates should have experience driving data protection and privacy programs and projects; collecting requirements; writing detailed business, functional and test specifications; coordinating efforts to scope and schedule; analyzing risks and performing cost/benefit analysis; and communicating results throughout the organization.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelors degree in computer science, engineering or a related technical discipline
7+ years of technical program management experience working directly with product and engineering teams
Deep understanding of information security, data governance and privacy frameworks, and compliance requirements
Understanding of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and project planning/execution skills including estimating and scheduling
Experience building, rolling out, and operationalizing global multi-year technology implementation efforts on schedule
Technical fluency; comfortable understanding and discussing technology concepts, schedule trade-offs, and new opportunities with technical team members
Maturity, judgment, and proven ability to lead and influence others
Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with developers, business owners, and senior leaders

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Innate sense of ownership combined with collaborative approach to overcoming challenges and influencing organizational change
Deep knowledge of privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA) and processes (e.g., Privacy by Design and Default, Privacy Impact Assessments, Data Subject Access and Deletion Requests, Records Retention)
Experience working with legal and compliance teams
Experience with program and project management software and techniques
Skilled in risk management, business risk analysis and making complex business/risk trade-off recommendations and decisions
Excellent leadership, negotiation, teamwork, and collaboration skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present complex technical information in a clear and concise manner to a variety of audiences
Results oriented, high energy, and self-motivated
Demonstrate maturity, high judgment, and the ability to influence
Drive day-to-day problem solving, and implement effective action plans to meet priorities
