Were the Mexico & Canada development team. We own the code that delivers great customer experiences for https://www.amazon.com.mx/ and http://www.amazon.ca/. And were growing! Were looking for engineers who are passionate about writing code and who love to build distributed systems that are transactional, scalable, high throughput, fault tolerant and always available. Were looking for engineers who are able to design and develop beautiful front-end UI as well as the massively scalable backend services to support it. Were seeking engineers who are comfortable driving the end to end solution and who can do so in an autonomous creative manner. Were looking for the thought leaders and trailblazers because were sailing to the edge of the map and into new territory.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

Programming experience with at least one modern language such as Java, C++, or C including object-oriented design
1+ years of experience contributing to the architecture and design (architecture, design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and current systems.
2+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
5+ years relevant work experience in commercial or web-scale system software development
Understanding of operating system fundamentals (Linux or Windows)
Knowledge of professional software engineering best practices for the full software development life cycle

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

BS degree or higher in Computer Science, Engineering or related field
Experience building and operating scalable distributed systems
Experience in Agile/SCRUM enterprise-scale software development
Familiar with building secure software using modern security principles
Demonstrated ability to achieve stretch goals in a highly innovative and fast paced environment
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Strong analytical skills, with excellent problem solving abilities
