DESCRIPTION
Amazon's Legal Department is looking for a talented technology lawyer to fill the position of Corporate Counsel to support Amazon Web Services (AWS), a dynamic and rapidly growing business within Amazon.com. AWS is at the forefront of the cloud computing and service industry, providing IT infrastructure services such as on-demand compute capacity, storage, content delivery, database services, browsers and more.
As Corporate Counsel, you will serve as a primary attorney for business executives, product and engineering teams and procurement, supply chain and operations professionals to develop, procure, manufacture, deploy, and sustain cloud related technologies worldwide.
Principal duties include:
Structuring, drafting and negotiating complex commercial agreements, including development, supply, procurement, manufacturing, and software licensing deals
Providing ongoing product and program counseling support for a variety of hardware products and operations to deploy these products globally for our customers
Supporting and directly advising business partners on contracts, disputes and strategic business initiatives
Collaborating cross-functionally to resolve commercial, operational, compliance, security, and customer/vendor issues
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
Juris Doctor (J.D.) and membership in one state bar or equivalent
Strong transactional and/or technology experience
A minimum of 5+ years of legal experience (with several years at a leading law firm or in-house experience)
Must be inquisitive, enthusiastic about technology, enjoy working hard and being continually challenged, and demonstrate sound judgment even in ambiguous situations
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Experienced in technology procurement, manufacturing, and/or product counseling
Excellent organizational skills, ability to manage multiple projects at once, follow through, and meet deadlines
Familiar with IT infrastructure and cloud computing services
In-house experience at a technology or internet company
