Position Summary
Lead data science and strategic mapping innovations. Provide analytic solutions, predictive modeling and relevant market intelligence to support strategic planning. Collaborate in all phases of data analysis involving projects in real estate, merchandising and marketing to support dynamic capital deployment that maximizes ROIC. Develop processes and workflows to provide relevant data through data visualization platforms. Demonstrate the company's core values of respect, honesty, integrity, diversity, inclusion and safety.

Essential Job Functions

* Create reporting applications/modules using strategic analytics platform (Alteryx) to assist in automating reports
* Create visual aids using mapping software, loyalty card data, mobile data, and competition software to clarify/interpret data for strategic use
* Partner with leadership to develop data-driven strategic mapping options using geo-spatial technology
* Manage third-party vendors contract negotiations, special requests/develop new processes
* Oversee administration on GIS and Data Platforms
* Serve as the subject matter expert (SME) pertaining to spatial data and transfer of spatial data
* Lead large, complex projects with little/no guidance
* Oversee development/implementation of new mapping portal that integrates multiple data points from various platforms for real time information
* Interpret/design customer profile, market opportunity and customer location materials for projects
* Oversee maintenance of standard display maps
* Prepare demographic data, competition analysis and other information to support annual business plan
* Maintain integrity and structure of various databases
* Manipulate data in GIS, organize market data for effective analysis
* Act as an industry/market expert regarding competitive/market intelligence
* Build analogs, regression models and develop working data sets
* Support division quarterly/annual reviews providing relevant data analysis/market trends
* Manage correlation of customer location information, demographic/behavioral variables, and prior capital investments to develop applications that predict future outcomes
* Lead acquisition/negotiations for new, sophisticated software
* Travel to attend conferences/keep up to date on industry trends

Minimum Position Qualifications

* 6+ years of work experience in the field and/or equivalent academic training
* Ability to handle sensitive information with high degree of confidentiality
* Demonstrated leadership skills with cross functional teams
* Ability to manage increasing workload using technological solutions/develop people-forward solutions for continued innovation
* Ability to develop new skills based on industry trends/technology
* Ability to work independently and collaborate internally/externally to prioritize a variety of tasks/projects
* Ability to collaborate on ideas/techniques to define project scope and explain results
* Proficient with Microsoft Office, GIS and internet applications such as ESRI ArcGIS Enterprise, Portal, Server, SQL Server/ArcSDE, PostgreSQL/PostGIS, QGIS, Alteryx
* Ability to work in detail with maps and other visual effects
* Strong communication/organizational skills

Desired Previous Experience/Education

* Bachelor's Degree in geography, information systems, or related field/equivalent education/experience
* Any grocery operations experience
* Advanced statistical training
* Process improvement training
* Spatial data analysis
* Database creation and software coding
* Extensive use of GIS technology
